Sharks should take that if they're really digging for guys like Mercer/Jarvis and can't get them. Although I'd argue that they Jets shouldn't make this trade for the same reason Mercer/Jarvis shouldn't be available.

Seems pointless for the jets to move perfetti for Meier. The goal is to get an additional tip 6 forward. Getting meier while giving up perfetti doesn’t solve the problem. Only makes it slightly less.

I’m pretty sure any of the Jets other prospects would be on the table for a Meier deal, except Perfetti. Mcgroarty, Lambert, Lucius, Heinola or any others the Sharks are interested in would be offered. Perfetti is already playing in the top six and the goal of a Meier trade is to upgrade the top six, not make it only slightly better. If the price gets that high which it probably will, I would expect Chevy to end up going the JVR route and upgrade the middle six instead.

yep. hard no. They are asking a 1st for McCabe and more for retention. Davidson may relent and take a first (+ other asset) for McCabe and retention, but a 2025 2nd ?? No way -- if they have to wait that long, it better be a first. That prospect makes no sense, too . . . their top 3 defense prospects (in a D-heavy system) are all LHD. Maybe Lambert plus a 2025 2nd?
