Description
I honestly don't know what a trade like this would look like in terms of what the Leafs give up, but maybe something like this?

If Knies plays like Leafs fans hope, he swaps with Jarnkrok on the 2nd line.

Kampf and Acciari swap based off whatever side the faceoff is on or who they are against. Acciari, Olivier is not a fun line to play against...

Korpisalo backups Sammy while Murray properly heals. He's insurance down the stretch and in the playoffs in case Murray or Sammy go down again. Woll as your 4th goalie is great depth there.

Holy overpay.

Gavrikov could be an upgrade-- but not by 2 prospects, 1st and years of control for Sandin.

Korpisalo to be a bad insurance policy. And a change/downgrade in 12th FWD.

Korpi isn't a bad insurance policy... he has a .913 save percentage and is top 20 in goals allowed below expected. And is also proven in the playoffs. It is an overpay tho for gavi

Jackets aren't interested in moving Olivier. They also are loaded with prospects and aren't looking to add a bunch of middling ones.

Make it Gav and Korpi for a 1st, Kerfoot, and Sandin, and it's something Jarmo would at least consider. Probably still doesn't outbid BOS or EDM for Gavrikov though.

It's an interesting idea but I'd much rather trade for Chychrun than Gavrikov with that package... Vejmelka for Korpi and Bjugstad for Olivier considering what the Leafs need and what they are giving up

Too much for Gavrikov - I think that package minus Sandin would do it.

Sandin and the first are the only appealing pieces of this package for the jackets.

If you want all those pieces you are looking at two firsts, sandin, and knies

I know, I'm just saying preferably based on the package and team control + I'm fine with just Chychrun and Bjugstad for a reduced cost than 2 1rst, sanding and Knies

Agree with you on this. Given the growth I've seen from Sandin this year as he's finally getting consistent playing time and minutes, the Leafs would be silly to trade him now. There's a good chance he will keep getting better defensively and his upside on offence is quite good.

It would still be like a first, second, sandin, and knies based on what they were asking from Boston.

do kalgren and hildeby have much value? Does Robertson? Does Kerfoot have value to CBS? Alot of no. Robertson probabkly only gets a 3rd at best at the moment, the rest have collective negative value to CBS.

Why do other teams part with value and leafs part with spare AHLers, expiring cap dump UFAs and broken prospects?

If youre throwing in all that junk, you devalue the good pieces, so collectively that might get UFA to be Gavrikov

I'd agree with preferring the Arizona trade of Veji, Bjugstad and Chychrun. I just see no way Arizona trades Veji. They need someone to save a couple shots best year
