Well, two things. We have zero need for Zach Jones. And two 2nd round picks is at least better than one, especially if one of them has some sort of attainable conditions to become a 1st.

2 2nds isn’t bad actually. I’m thinking that if there’s not first outright then it’s going to be a 2nd conditional to a first.

You don’t think we need more Jones on D in Chicago?

At least the NYR fans can stop sending us Kravstov! We're going to be underwhelmed for sure, but (2) 2nds and a decent prospect is FAR better than what NYR fans have been putting on here. Maybe we can flip Jones?

haha. Absolutely not. It's already confusing enough with all the Jones and the Johnson's.

The Blackhawks have a need at every single position.

Yeah. It's possible he could solidify a role for himself with CHI at least temporarily, or make himself into a decent trade asset if he plays well enough.

I don't think it will be a conditional first but I still think it is a fair return for the lack of leverage that Chicago has. I don't think Drury will just rob CHI for peanuts

Once again, the Flyers had no leverage with Giroux last year. Tarasenko has an NTC and would ONLY go to the Rangers. The originally predicted return of a 1st and prospect already calculated for that factor. You don't get to use the same coupon twice on a single purchase.

It does seem like that is what is going to happen. But it shouldn't.

lol. well, two 2nds and a possible 2nd plus for Jones when we flip him if he plays well, isn't as awful as Kravtsov and a single 2nd round pick. Still sucks. But it is better.

But with the Tarasenko trade the Rangers were not originally going to go for Kane so they did not mind giving up a first given the fact that they had an extra first in this year's draft. The Rangers will not give up a first because they know they don't need Kane.

In the sense that they Need good players… yes. Zach Jones interest to Chicago is based almost entirely on how the stack him up against their current prospects. Since Chicago’s D pool is so stacked, and especially with 4,5,6 types of guys I can’t see us going out of our way to get him unless they really like him.

Well, supposedly they originally WERE going for Kane, but Kane took too long to make a decision.

Yeah. It'd be one thing to say we need help at the NHL level, but Jones is a prospect and we already have plenty of LHD prospects. We're good. Don't need him. Move one with your awful opinions DefenseFirst.

There’s a lot to like with Zach jones. I think he left college a year too early, but still tons of potential there. While his development will answer whether or not he can do it, his skill set suggests he may be able to play the off side.

That and you forget that Kane injury status deter the Rangers away. It more Kane wanted to come to NYC then NYC wanting him .

I'm sure they knew more about the details of his health than public speculation did. Kane is fine. Tarasenko has been hurt more than Kaner has.

Very disappointing, but if the guy is gonna waive for one team, what can you really get.

It's Kane's right, I guess. The team agreed to give him the NMC. So I guess this is just how it goes. Agree on Z. Jones, what's even the point.

First realistic trade I've seen. Obviously they could get more if Kane was open to other teams and there was a bidding war but any Hawks fan thinking that Kakko or Lafreniere will be part of the return is delusional
