Not bad additions (except maybe Quick), but I do think your GM has the right idea here. They're not lock to make it, and that's a lot to give up for a team who is just opening a (hopeful) window for many years.

It’s probably a good thing he would say no then and you don’t have any say in the matter. I’m not against trading first round picks because we already have a pretty solid prospect pool, but let’s do better than just giving up first rounders for a reclamation project like Bertuzzi.

Columbus won't take back any goalie with term, since Tarasov has to be up in the NHL next year.

Oh I’m sorry. I forgot it’s totally worth spending $1 million per goal he’s scored so far this year. If the Red Wings were so in love with Tyler Bertuzzi, they wouldn’t even consider trading him away. He would be locked up with a brand new contract just like Dylan Larkin just was. Otherwise known as the guy on your team worth the money he just got paid, not this guy.

My bad. Forgot points are everything.

Just say you don't know what he offers as a player and shut up.

When you’re paying a guy nearly $6 million a year I certainly hope he can put up more than 14 points in half a season. To put it in perspective Buffalo is paying a defenseman $6 million who has over 50 points. Even Okposo, who is considerably older and was given his contract five years ago has more than 14 points this season, and it’s well known that contract didn’t work out for Buffalo. At the very least Buffalo is not spending assets on someone they can’t guarantee will be sticking around. Bertuzzi is a UFA and I don’t see Buffalo spending the kind of money he probably thinks he’s worth to keep him around. They have extensions to pay out to Dahlin and Power first.

What do you think Portillo's rights would cost for Columbus? Because that's a Buffalo goalie I can see us being interested in, even in a separate deal.

He's like those crack pots on history Channel's Ancient Aliens. "Other worldly beings came from the sky! The Sky Gods!"

Is it possible human DNA has been mixed with alien DNA? Back when the pyramids were made by the Sky Gods?

Ancient alien reclamation project Tyler Bertuzzi theorists say Yes!

Interesting question, and I would have to think Buffalo would at least explore the idea of moving his rights and getting something back rather than losing him for nothing. I would have to take a look at the organizational depth chart and see what makes sense for Buffalo in return for him.

Columbus is collecting Wolverines, and I think they'd have a great chance at signing him with his former captain Blankenburg in the org as well as Kent Johnson, not to mention Werenski and possibly Adam Fantilli. I wouldn't expect it would be a huge price, but I find him intriguing.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t know enough about Columbus‘s prospect pool to be able to pick out a specific player that is considered a similar value that fits a need for Buffalo. I would guess a third round pick wouldn’t be unfair. Portillo is a highly regarded goaltending prospect.

When a hockey fan talks from his arse anything is possible. Especially when it comes to Red Wings rookie Tyler Bertuzzi 🤭

Go ahead and ignore the second part of what I said, where he is a pending UFA with no guarantee that he will stick around. Buffalo is not in a position to go after a rental and use significant assets to do it. Even if they were, I don’t think he’s the right guy.
