Wings Fan who wants to make a run at EP please read it all

Initial Creation Date: Mar. 5, 2023
Published: Mar. 5, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Yes I’m dead serious with this offer. I think the only team with a chance to even beat this offer is Columbus. Also, are any of you Canucks fans think big your GM is nuts? I really don’t get the goal with where your team is going. Why not strip the team down this past offseason and go for the hometown boy in the lottery?

I put your prospects in taxi squad to show how deep a pool you’d have. It doesn’t even count having 4 firsts in this 2023 draft.

Additional Details:
Ok this is the controversial blockbuster idea I have. Garland is not a must have by any means so if you don’t want him to be a part of it I’m fine with that. If you hate the idea of trading EP fair enough. If you’re mad I didn’t put Mo in the deal, he’s literally my one no no. Everyone else is on the table. I wouldn’t trade Cossa for almost anyone else.

11 pieces for both Garland and Pettersson, Detroit passes. That only makes us worse in the long run.

Yeah, the pens don’t want it that badly. Of course Hextall is talking because Vancouver is in cap hell next year and he’s going to wait for the price to come down significantly. I wouldn’t be surprised if they paid a team to take on Boeser or Garland and got very minimal for Miller. Fact is, they are all bad contracts.

That’s the exact opposite of reality. They don’t have to trade anyone.

Getting a top 10 centre in the league makes us worse in the long run? That’s a rather odd way of looking at it. We really are stuck in a rut. This is what we would need to go from a decade of rebuilding to a really strong team in the east.

Why? You’re getting the best goalscorer. They’re getting the best defensive player albeit he’s getting up there.

No it really isn’t lol. If Hextall really wanted him and was willing to pay that price, he’d have done it at the deadline. Facts are facts. Vancouver is in cap hell and they’ll need to trade salary to roster a full team.

I think you have to look at the way the trades with Meier and Chychrun went and realize that teams are highly resistant to trading premium prospects and young roster players, let alone multiple premium prospects and young roster players. Multiple firsts are a given in the return if Pettersson tells Vancouver he does not intend to sign long term in Vancouver, but you're not going to get potentially two thirds of a team with three of those assets being high upside, high NHL probability prospects.

Even if we got Elias Pettersson, it doesn't make us a Cup contender.

Yeah one player doesn't make a team, And we can get good players with those picks. Plus we're not dealing Edvinsson and Kasper. Short term we might be good. but we won't be over the long term.

Keep telling yourself that. Those deals never happen at the deadline, they’re always pre draft deals.

We’re acquiring a superstar centre who’s 24. How are we impacted negatively long term? I’m not trading the house for a 30 year old.

Meier isn’t even close to the same player. Chychrun was sold away on the cheap so Gary could calm down the overpayments. We all know he runs Arizona. If Chychrun was on a real team the price likely would have been higher.

I said the truth and you seem to really be freaked out that your GM was ringing the phone up to BC to inquire about Miller. Those deals don’t happen in March. They happen in June. Sorry if that upsets you but Hextall is a fool and if I’m a pens fan (like most I’ve seen) I’m rooting for him getting the axe ASAP before he can sink the Pens with an albatross of a contract.

Canucks really aren’t that bad off with contracts and cap. As it stands they don’t need to do anything and they will be fine with the cap, they just can’t add or build. So no they don’t NEED to sell low or give premiums to move players of value

That Wings trade. At 4.9m X 3, Garland's trade value isn't much at all. Then to expect the Wings to pay all that for Pettersson. Wings would so much better off just signing two UFAs for 12.1m total and keeping all those young assets. C''mon you can't be serious at all with that trade.

No way I do this if I'm Detroit. There's a few EP-calibre guys in this draft which Stevie could trade up for, but he could probably even get someone like Draisaitl for less than this

Why assume I’m not serious? He’s a top 10 centre in the league and he’s 24. I’d gladly pay that price for him because no other centre who’s better than him is going to be remotely realistic to trade for because they’re all on better teams than Vancouver. How many players in this 2023 draft have a realistic chance to be better than Elias Pettersson. Beaded is a given but after him? I’m not sure if Fantili will be better than him and I’m a huge fan of Fantili. After him there’s a ton of good wingers but we all know a top centre is almost always a bigger need than a top line winger.

Wings pass, it's not even remotely close. You got like 6 first round picks there, no player is worth that
