Have you watched Olaffson play? He's a one trick pony. Great shooter. That's it. Weak with the puck on his stick, not physical, doesn't play D.

I'm curious if KD will want to reach out to Ryan Johnson. BUFs likely about to lose him for nothing. Not like Dahlin/Power are going anywhere. Admittedly, Our LD pipeline is really full already, but it's also hard to argue that there's another team out there with this kind of opportunity to make the NHL club. He'll have to earn it for real...nothing's given, but just looking at the LD above...yikes.

Olofsson may be a one trick pony but it is a REALLY GOOD TRICK!
Only 16 NHL forwards score more goals/60 than Victor.
Since he is 6 years older than the new crop of forwards, he has been relegated to 3rd line duties with (waiver claim) Jost as his center.
I am not here to say Chicago should or would make this trade, only that Olofsson is greatly underrated.

As I just stated we all tend to underrate him as he has been pushed aside in favor of the youth movement.
I would certainly not trade him for only a second as many have proposed.
Targeting the right team he could return a late first from a playoff team if 50% of his salary was retained.
His 26 goals would be second among the Knights, but they would most likey say no still feeling the burn of giving up Tuch for Eichel.
MIN only Kaprizov, and CAR only Neces and Aho have more goal than he for other examples.

Your point about the rangers and offersheets is interesting but also wrong. You can't offersheet all 3 players at once. You have to offer them one at a time. Additionally the player has to accept it.
How many players are going to want to go play in the tire fire that will be chicago?
You then have to watch as the cap goes up and the rangers will have cap space and offersheet one of your players.
