I think that you have Kyle Connor's value right, and his three-year term is good, but for some reason, I just don't see Anaheim doing this. I think that a team that is closer to contending should go for that, however.

I think that you have the draft pick protections backwards. I'd much rather protect the 6th or 7th overall pick in 2024 than in 2025. Then, if the pick were shifted, it would simply become an unprotected 2026 first (the 2025 first being top-5 protected already).

Devils should pass. Bahl is perfectly fine.

Do they really do that?
They have Jarry already as a starter and will rebuild in around 2 seasons, the first round of this very deep draft could become an incredible player.

Can't see Colorado doing that
Anaheim gets extra compensation if the protection applies like a 2 or the for each invoked because the firsts would be 3&4 years away

Connor Hellebuyck is a top 5 goalie in the league, He's worth a lot more than that pathetic offer.

Unless Winnipeg goes into a full blown rebuild, There's no freaking way Cheveldayoff trades Kyle Connor. He's still young enough to fit the young core there.

Even with 50% retention, I seriously doubt that Colorado can afford Mark Scheifele. Would imagine that Newhook and Byram will get nice little raises.

Pathetic offer for Pierre-luc Dubois, You're at least one 1st round pick short.

Anaheim is in no place to be trading away multiple 1st rounders along with a defenseman he hope turns into a top 4 guy

They get an elite goalie while dumping a terrible contract. I think that is a no brainer for the Pens.

Two late firsts and Helleson would be appropriate, but there's a strong likelihood that those 1sts are fairly high, and that's too steep a price.

24 2nd, 25 1st, and LaCombe or Nestrenko is something that could fly, but we're not in a position to let Helleson go.

Avs decline in a heartbeat. No interest in a Schiefele rental.

How do you plan on replacing Kadri?

There are better targets than rentals like Schiefele. Even other rentals that are likely cheaper are a better idea than Schiefele (Henrique for example). Kuznetsov I reckon there is definitely a deal to be made with him wanting out of WAS. Bennett would be another likely target, Florida just have too many guys vying for that 2C spot now. The Avs '2C issue' was pretty much discussed ad nauseam during the season. Add to that with Landy being gone all year and Nuke missing some games too there was never any chance to give Newhook a shot at 2C with his regular intended wings. Likelihood is that happens next year now unless/if the Avs make a move. Personally I wouldn't even do Girard straight up for Schiefele as a rental even with some of Sammy's struggles this year. 25 year old puck moving Dmen on sweetheart deals don't get given up quickly in rental deals for 30 year plus players. Adding in that '23 1st is a no chance, no way to me, and likely is to Joe & GMCM as well.
