Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 18, 2023
Published: Apr. 18, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I have a horrible feeling that unless the Habs get a top 4 pick, theyll be reaching super high on Reinbacher or Dvorsky

So here is a trade to get into the top 4

Either Michkov or Carlsson and if both are available, you pick Michkov
Trades
MTL
  1. 2023 1st round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
Picking Anaheim as they are guaranteed a top 3 pick as of right now but this could work for any team with #3 or #4 overall

#2 overall would have to be a super overpay and #1 is impossible
ANA
  1. Heineman, Emil
  2. Kidney, Riley
  3. Xhekaj, Arber
  4. 2023 1st round pick (MTL)
  5. 2023 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Assume the Habs have #5 overall

This trade is mostly just a bunch of spare parts.
Why would that entice Anaheim?

I'm not sure our scouts are bad. I think higher management values size too much.

Smith and Barlow would be perfect if Barlow is available at the panther's pick, gotta get a 2nd line winger that isnt 5'10 or under. Barlow is prob gone by the 13th or 14th pick, But or Wood would be good too if Barlow isnt available. We would just need another top 4 RD. CBJ has some RDs, Boqvist, Ceulemans both have top 4 potential. Jiricek is pretty much untouchable.

There would need to be significant value for Anaheim to consider trading out the potential Bedard pick.

If it doesn't make you cringe thinking about giving it up, or you don't question if you paid too much to trade up, then it isn't significant value.

no one is trading the bedard pick so once may 8 is here anahiem would only trade if they had fallen to third.... and to go from 5 to 3 is not even a guarentee that your player is better so this trade does not work for either side.

Habs need quality and not quantity

Seems like our fan base does as well. benson being overlooked for Barlow, Wood and Reinbacher when they are clearly leaps and bound better
