Every Jets fan is always saying that the rumor of PLD wanting to play in Montreal is just smoke but a new story just came to light proving there is more to this than even PLD has let on and it is yet another reason the Habs are not likely to give many top assets up in a trade. According to the article during the 2020 offseason back before being traded from Columbus, PLD was planning on leaving for Montreal via an OS and that Jarmo Kekalainen made two deals at the 11th hour to clear cap space. The OS never materialized but the fact is Dubois was ready, willing and expecting to be in Montreal during the 2021 NHL season.
