Not enough for Hanifin.

Hanifin for Mittelstadt makes more sense.

Do they even need mittelstadt? Feels like a weird move for both teams independent of value being right or not.

Hawks decline. There's absolutely nothing Bryson brings to the club that they don't already have in spades.

Mittlestadt isn’t good enough

Make it Peyton Krebs + Olofsson 50% retained + Olivier Nadeau and that’s only if Hanifin doesn’t re-sign in CGY long-term

Mittelstadt is the base.

We will be trading a center this off-season so regaining one is essential. Mittelstadt has his flaws but is still an effective offensive player.

Mittelstadt is much better though? I feel like the perception of him hasn't caught up to how he performed in the second half. His overall numbers make him out to be an average middle six winger. Krebs is just younger/cheaper. I would rather keep mittelstadt but he'll price himself out Id think.

You don’t get to ask for the moon for a guy with a one-year contract, unless he signs an extension as part of the trade.

Happy he had a breakout year offensively, but that doesn’t neglect his past performance and his lack of physicality. I’d rather bring the younger local product in Krebs back and hope he’s got a higher ceiling

He’d go for that at the Trade Deadline without the extension, but yes, let’s assume it was a Sign & Trade after he decides not to commit to CGY, but is fine to commit to BUF

Olofsson is probably getting moved this summer, and I don’t see Buffalo making that kind of a trade at the deadline. If they were making a move like that, it wouldn’t be a rental. They would make that trade with every intention of signing that player and probably insist on a new contract when the deal is signed off anyway. Even with all the prospects they have, it would be incredibly foolish to give up that many assets for a playoff rental.

My issue with Hanifan is that he only has one year left. If he was signed for several years, I would be willing to give up more but I can't do it for just one year.
