How would the Jackets make a trade involving 3rd OA based on what the Sharks do with 4th OA? Jackets keep 3rd OA and draft the best player they've ever had in Carlsson.

Very difficult choice... However, I don't think trading Dach to move up would solve much of a problem for MTL, especially since all 3 of the guys ranked 3-5 could go in any order.

Dach doesn’t move the line enough, take carlsson, still think dachs peak is a poor man’s laine, and you all ready got laine

I feel like Dach doesn’t really fit CBJ now.

Play him at C? We’ll have Smithlesson, Sillinger, Dach, Voronkov, Kuraly, potentially Boone, Tex. It feels tough to slot him in there.

Play him at W? We’ll have JG, Laine, Marchenko, KJ in the T6. We’re set there.

Maybe it boiled down to CHI stunting his development, but Dach seems to be in a good spot in MTL. I’d keep him.

Boqvist is definitely a trade candidate (every RD not named Jiricek is), so he could be moved. But I just don’t see it as part of this package.

Montreal says no (at least if I were Kent, I would say no).

Also, Columbus needs centers…they should probably hang onto 3rd pick unless they do not like Carlsson.

The scenario you see Columbus doing this isn't possible to determine and would remove any real incentive for Montreal to do that. I doubt Montreal does it anyways.

CBJ only does this if SJS takes someone like Michkov/Reinbacher/Leonard at 4 and leaves Smith available.

I think the Habs pass. Boqvist is not what we are looking for at RHD, and Carlsson will need another year at least before making the NHL.

Based on the condition you applied to CBJ (only does it if Smith is available at 5, which is nonsense since they wouldn't know for sure), MTL passes. If they knew for sure that he would be, there's no reason for MTL to make that trade.
