COL doesn’t trade Byram for Nylander straight up.

There is a fundamental lack of understanding of the Jackets needs from everyone proposing Marner for 3rd OA.

Why on earth would CBJ even consider that, I don’t even understand where half of these trade proposals come from it’s honestly quite interesting

If the Jackets were to trade the 3OA it would have to bring back a legit 1C. Period. Marner is not a C and thus will not get the Jackets to move off that pick. The Jackets have never had a chance at a legit 1C in the draft and will not squander it.

Columbus isn’t moving that much for 2 seasons of Marner, he doesn’t make them a cup contender. Also Marner isn’t resigning with Columbus once he’s a UFA. When Marner was an RFA he basically said he wanted to be a Leaf and was using the potential offersheets to get more money from the leafs.

I don't think Leafs would trade Nylander for Byram straight up, given his injury history. If he was healthy then it's a different story but the Leafs can probably get more with less risk.

The other team doesn’t matter one bit. Only the Leafs. Their fans are Big Sad and need Marner to go bye-bye and oh! That little nothing franchise to the south has some good assets they want!

He had a concussion and then he had a knee injury. Injuries happen. Does it affect value, sure. But a 21yr old cost controlled dman that has already proved he can be a stud at the highest level (in the Cup playoffs) will always be more valuable then a pending UFA winger. T

Don't get me wrong, I'd make that trade but would need a player like Newhook to be added for insurance.
BTW, Byram has had 3 concussions since playing in the NHL. He might not get another one but you have to be aware that it might not go well for him if he gets a couple more.

You’re high. 3 concussions since when did you become his doctor? COL wouldn’t under ANY circumstances trade Byram straight up for Nylander and your crazy ass is talking about you would need Newhook too is maybe the craziest thing I have ever read on CF by somebody being serious. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Everybody is out of their tree.

A 100pt player and a 40 goal scorer who each produced at about a point a game or better in the playoffs....getting rid of those guys is what's going to make this team better?

This was a tight 5 game series that didn't go our way. A call here or a bounce there and we could be in the conf. finals. I'm not forgiving everyone for everything and giving out participation ribbons... but these wholesale trade scenarios are asinine to me.

I could get behind a like for like type trade involving one of our guys...but not for futures and prospects

You obviously have a shine on for Byram and possibly the whole Avs team. I'm not his doctor but his doctor said he's had 3 concussions. So while you're busy critiquing CF posts perhaps expand your horizons and read other news articles pertaining to the players in question. Otherwise, you just sound like a loud-mouthed uninformed wannabe.

What doctor? Provides source just don’t throw **** out there. He missed games this year because of a knee injury. So there is only one of us shooting their mouth off and it’s you.

Do you think the coach is the one that puts players in concussion protocol?
It's well-documented that he had 2 concussions his rookie year, then another one the following year.
Do your own research if you don't believe it.

Anyways, I'm done explaining this to you as you're not interested in the truth.
