Cooley won't be traded unless there is some crazy situation where it's for Matthews who extends for 8 years. The odds of that happening is sooooo slim.

So a third overall for a 5th overall, but said 3rd overall is one of the best prospects in the league and has had an extra year to develop? Not good for the coyotes. I’m not sure they would even do 1 for 1 for Slaf current day.

Mantha hardly has any value, That offer for Clayton Keller would easily be beat league wide. Not even close. Caps don't have the pieces to outbid teams league wide.

So I undershot the trade, it was more to start the conversation, so possibly a fantilli or carlsson makes more sense or a crazy package for bedard, would Cooley 6/8/12 get you bedard?

If Michkov falls at 5, MTL would probably be interested. If it's Will Smith, I'm not sure.

The 8th overall in a deep draft is a good starting point, The rest though could be better pieces added.

Random Twitter post from kellers dad, and Cooley heading back to university of Minnesota for another year, probably just a way too early and buying into red flags way too early.

I don't do the Twitter, could you do a quick elaboration on what was said? I knew Cooley was going back, he should be in the NHL. Could be a red flag that he wants to go to free agency but maybe he feels like he needs another year? I wouldn't read too much into unless he doesn't resign after the next college season.

Twitter was just kellers dad saying that his son wouldn’t be back in the desert, I wonder if Cooley isn’t sure about signing up for the same situation, tweet was erased also, so could be a lot about nothing.

Yeah, the general consensus is that the top 5+ of this draft is better than anyone taken in 2022. Hard to see why Montreal would do that.

Ah I understand thanks. Could just be a response to the arena deal or maybe he wants out. Will be interesting to see what unfolds at the draft.
