I was gonna say it's an extremely fair price for him and it's almost like we couldn't say no. I would be on the fence for this move, but totally get the pass part of it too

One year left on his contract; you think he'll want to stay in Detroit or try for a contender? I think he leaves, hence why it's a no.

If it came down to it, they could leddy him and give a 2nd, use him all year and if he is a fit then keep him and if not he could get the 2nd back at the deadline

C'mon... That Hanifin trade is the same unrealistic crap we've seen from Leafs fans all week. Maybe if it's a sign and trade you get this kind of return... But even then you are asking for 3 1sts and a 2nd. It's a whole lot

Hard pass from NSH. Don't see them being in the market for a rental, and you've got them overpaying for retention they don't need.

I’d rather the wings do that Lindholm deal. We don’t need the retention tho

Columbus isn’t moving that much for 1 season of Hanifin, he’d be a good fit for us, but not at this price.

Two years left on his deal. He's actually a pretty solid two way player. Career low shooting percentage last season. I would take a chance on him at that price. If all else fails and he is just similar to last season. We get that second and maybe a bit more back at a trade deadline with retention.
