Hawks decline, even for the low price of a 7th round pick. He has 3 years left and blocks the team's young defenders from getting NHL experience.

It’s 2023, and the cap is flat.

Unless it’s Pacioretty, you aren’t moving salary for free. CBJ pass.

This basically boils down to a pile of nothing, a Cap Dump in Ceci, and a single Late-1st for Carlson. No, no the Caps should not accept this, what a poor take.

Seattle passes unless there is a center or d-man involved. We got enough wingers as good as Yamamoto on the roster.

I wouldnt imagine Carlson has too much value around the league. He has been a defensive liability for the last couple seasons but that could have something to do with lingering injuries. I don't see any scenario where the caps look to move him as he is apart of their core they will ride into the sunset with and their entire season fell apart after he got injured. His age, injury issues, cap hit, and defensive issues all combined together probably lowers his value more than you would think. He wont get traded any way unless it turns into a complete yard sale.

Carlson is too important to trade. He is still great offensively and better defensively than most caps fans think (myself included).

He also prolly does not have massive trade value and there is no reason to trade him for a poor return. Caps need him if they hope to make another run

John Carlson lead the NHL in scoring by DMen in 2019-20 and has been Top 5 twice since then. The only season he hasn’t been Top 5 was this season in which he missed half the season with a skull fracture and you don’t think he has much value around the League? Are you serious? Do you know who John Carlson is? I think you’re posting in the wrong thread or maybe you’re just lost.
