BUF
  1. Gibson, John
Additional Details:
He's been outplayed by his backup for the past 4 szns, I'd take this in a heartbeat lmao
2.
ANA
  1. 2024 1st round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Some contending team needing a 2/3C
COL
  1. Henrique, Adam ($2,912,500 retained)
3.
ANA
  1. Murray, Matt
  2. 2023 1st round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Assuming Murray isn't going on LTIR, I don't think his contract will cost a first straight up to dump, but move back roughly a round, similar to the Mrazek deal (but more expensive)
TOR
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (BOS)
4.
ANA
  1. Myers, Tyler
  2. 2023 1st round pick (VAN)
VAN
  1. 2023 1st round pick (BOS)
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
28+33 have 311 draft value, pick 17 has 309, so it's similar to trading down 6 spots to move Myers, probably a lot, could add some later picks or smth

Like the Henrique to Colorado thought. Gibson....I think Buffalo can do well in UFA and not have to give to give up a first.

laugh Sorry but Patrik Allvin isn't dropping down 17 spots in very deep draft, Just to unload one year of Tyler Myers at $6,000,000 per. He might drop down to the Tampa 19th overall pick with Chicago. But that's about it.

FYI Detroit owns the 17 pick Vancouver has the 11 so the you'd need to add at least another 3rd round pick.

Aside from the fact that you're using a draft pick value chart from 2016 and there are two more recent ones, the Vancouver pick is #11 overall, not #17.

I like the other moves but I'm not too sure that any of the other teams would co-operate with us.

I haven't seen the recent ones, I tried looking but couldn't find ones (from someone I trust/also had a writeup) and yes, I am aware VAN has 11, not 17. I'm saying it's roughly equivalent value to trading down to 17, which is a higher pick than 19

Agreed, I was trying to get an argument with other ducks fans bc I saw one say BUF's first+some other decent pieces was an insulting offer for Gibby and Rico, and wanted to point out that just the first would be an absolute steal

(May not have been BUF's first, I could be misremembering, but I thought it was)

I was saying the 2 picks have roughly the same value as pick 17, not that they were pick 17 or anything like that

About 20 teams want Murray plus a 1st. Should tell you a lot about that deal.

That's why I added the 2nd, I've always thought it was a bit weird for just a first

Yeah but since Vancouver holds the 11 you'd need to add at least another 3rd to equal out the value. 28th+33rd isn't getting you the 11th. Plus Allvin isn't dropping down no 17 spots just to unload one year of Tyler Myers.

I would think the Ducks would be better off dealing Rico in the offseason. Given his recent injury history and age, there is good reason to think he might not make it to the TDL healthy.

There’s only been one season when Gibson’s backup has been better than him in the last 5 seasons. That was last season when Stolarz had a very good season. Other than that Gibson’s numbers have been either better or basically the same as his back up.

Ty ty, not a huge fan of the methodology, I prefer one that uses the results rather than value, tho for this purpose the actual value actually makes sense. Tho from this chart, 28+33 ~15, so it's an even better deal for VAN lol. I also threw together my own value chart (using WAR for guys drafted between 2017 and 2015 or 2016) and 28+33 ~5 lol

17 is a better pick than 19. Those 2 picks have approximately the same value as 17. You just said you'd do it for 19.

Yeah, lots of teams think they'll make bank at the TDL so hang onto most of their expiring UFA's that have value

The Ducks maybe have three players I would trade that first round pick for and none of them are Gibson. Of course none of them would be moved for Buffalo’s 1st rounder alone.

1 year of Myers doesn't take a mid 2nd round pick to dump. Canucks don't need 1 year of cap space. They don't have top players to sign this offseason anyway. Not like this UFA class is particularly strong either

The Canucks are over the cap for next year already, yes they have players to move, but if they chose to move Myers he could probably get close to a late first considering he brings next to nothing on the ice, and makes 6 mil, the same as Marleau did lol

They are not over the cap for next year. Takes like 2 minutes of research to find out that Poolman + Pearson to LTIR immediately frees up 5.75 mil. You do realize that GM's in this league value big RHD that can eat a lot of minutes, regardless if they are good or not right? How do you think Gudbranson got 4.5x4 this past offseason? It would cost next to nothing to lose Myers as he is big, can play a lot of minutes, only has 1 year left on his contract. Seems to me you are not very up to date on the NHL
