These are rebuilding moves, so would you be comfortable with 1 year if Hoffman, 1 year of Edmundson, and 2 years of Armia?

The only issue is we cannot take on nearly 15M in salary. I would like to send back players in expiring or close to expiring deals so we could balance the cap.

St Louis would have to be absolutely in love with Michkov to do this MTL deal and they'd have to be committed to a rebuild. Don't think either of those are true

This essentially turns into Michkov and Xhekaj, Kyrou is a solid winger, point a game player but Faulk will be 34-35 before habs are really ready to compete so in terms of the overall rebuild this move is short sighted.

If you retained 1-1.5 million per year on Krug, I might do that. Krug is 32 with 4 backloaded years left. TRad and Vlassic for the Tor 1st and Alexandrov are pretty close. TRad combo of 750K, 20G/40P, and another year of control as a RFA is the kind of deal that gets moved for a 1st (or more) at the deadline. I like Alexandrov, but Vlassic will be getting long looks in the NHL this season and is pretty decent too. I would be okay with a smaller deal of Alexandrov for Vlassic as the Hawks have a lot of LHD prospects and swapping one out for a forward makes a lot of sense.

the entire core of this team is still under 23. all this deal does is make us a bubble team, still doesnt address goaltending, and we will still be waiting on the young core to mature more before we are competitive.
Are you suggesting the only thing the habs are correctly missing is a Petry level dman and a 75 point winger?
