I saw it on another ACGM... and it seemed like CAR fans were into it.

Can't see the Avs touching Wheeler with a 10 foot pole. Don't need that in the room.

there are 1000 reasons to not want wheeler... and yet, that trade seems pretty generous to the avs. If Mack was willing to whip him into shape, i would cautiously consider.

Maybe not the avs...but I gotta think someone would bite on that at the deadline going into a playoff push just because wheeler is a big body with some name value.

More of an "anywhere" trade. Just thought of the Avs since Landeskog is out for the season if not longer. Another contender would be interested.

He is still a good player... just needs a change. You get a 60 point player at 4.125M for a 4th. Even on a 3rd line and PP he can provide some value, especially for only a 4th.

I struggle to see how a 2C in dubois who leaves the jets with zero leverage fetches that return

too much to pay for a goalie when Adin Hill is probably going to win the cup this year

Since Grier wouldnt commit to calling ours a rebuild or a retool I have started to call it a re-sharking.

Not enough value to take Scmidt.

Toronto has a goalie and isn't going to massively overpay you to get Hellebuyck. He's a top goalie but he's not worth that at all (that's far more than the Avs paid for Darcy Kuempfer in a similar situation). And the Avs were more desperate.

Drury definitely considers that, but I don't think Drury would trade Chytil, who's already become a very praised player in the Rangers system and whos production could very well match Scheifle in a few years at the rate he's developing, for someone who could turn out as a 1 year rental. This might be smthn he revisits at the trade deadline though.

colorado does this all day and doesn't think twice about it. Wheeler is fine, they've had issues with the coach and the team isn't going anywhere then they strip him of the C as well, i wouldn't be happy to be there either

Canes should do that if there is an extension.

Easy no thanks from the Rangers. Not trading Chytil and his new contract for 1 year of no D Scheif.

Value is fine but he has been one of the more toxic people in that room for years now, seems like an annual thing at least. Why would you assume once he comes to Colorado, he would have a complete personality change? Kadri might have had issues, but it wasn't in the room. Sure when things are fresh and fun, it's easy. What happens when things don't go his way? 30 seconds of pp2 time a game doesn't really do much for me. 4.125m is still a lot of cap to spend on a cancer that could do more harm than good.
If the Avs get to October and havent gotten the pieces they need, it's w.e.

When P.M was his coach(who loooved B.W), he was an asshat to the fellow players and made life more miserable than needed. He loses his coach and now is a problem with his new coach, who's next? To me he is someone that will always find someone he has an issue to the point the hockey world knows about it. Don't need that one bit.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i don't remember the coach or the players ever coming out and saying wheeler is ruining the locker room did they? So we really only have what media gives us and especially with canadian teams it is blown way out of proportion. Living in winnipeg for 8 months of the year is bad enough, losing in winnipeg for multiple years is enough to make anyone not be happy playing there.

The situations are incredibly similar. They're not radically different players in the sense that one should be valued far more than the other. Hellebuyck is of course better, but worth nowhere near what your package is. Especially from a team that does not need a goalie since they already have one.
