laugh laugh Buffalo laugh and passes, Harkins+Hellebuyck+Schmidt don't get anywhere close to that kind of return. Talk about a massive overpay on Buffalo's part.

And Carolina isn't trading Martin Necas for 2 locker rooms cancers in Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler. And it was already mentioned that Wheeler is going to be a buy out candidate.

And cold day in hell that PLD is playing in Colorado. he's not playing that far out west.

Why do the Canes even consider that? Sheifele is a terrible fit to the Canes system, and he is already 30, and will likely be demanding close to 9-10mil for his next contract. The Canes aren’t going to have interest in Sheifele. They might have a little interest in Wheeler, but at half retained, you are only getting a 4th or a 5th for him.

If you think Hellebuyck is worth all that why on earth would PHI trade Hart for 1/100th of that?

Buffalo's really selling the farm here for a 30 year old UFA goalie.

Cause there’s no logic used behind the trades lol

The best player in the Canes deal is Necas... why would Carolina do this? Necas outproduced Schiefele, and Wheeler is a cap dump. Not to mention, Schiefele is an awful fit for the Canes because he's garbage defensively, and he's only got a year left. Carolina avoid rentals like the plague. This makes negative sense for the Canes

Only way Necas is leaving Carolina is for a somewhat comparable in age player. Furthermore, he would be part of a larger package to aquire said top end player who isnt nearing 30, at 30 or over 30 years of age.

i think the Avs would consider. little steep of a price side for RFA rights for a player whose agent is floating insane numbers, though

I haven't seen what Brisson has put out there; what's the damage?

Yeah, that's a bit high but I do expect to see bigger contracts after this coming season when the cap goes up. Wages have been depressed for years now and escrow has been high so players are going to want to recoup what they lost for basically four years. If he'd go 8x8 with the Avs, I'd take that even if it means Girard or Toews have to go after next season. Having Mac and PLD down the middle for 8 years would be like having Sid and Geno in their heyday.

I'm not opposed to 8. I'm not even opposed to 9 next season honestly. But he has not produced to 9 yet imo

No, he hasn't but I think he'll get to be a regular 75-85 point player (especially on the Avs) and, since contracts are going to get more expensive, that's going to be a fair number. It looks like he has a positive effect in all areas of the game and is a strong 5v5 player so $9M is not an overly aggressive ask.

totally. just a tough bet on a guy that has quit on everywhere he's been. I think he could thrive in Colorado or completely wilt under Mackinnon's pressure
