Created by: jtrevethan22
Team: 2023-24 Nashville Predators
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 15, 2023
Published: Jun. 15, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Nashville looks to model Kucherov/Vasilevskiy with Michkov/Askarov. Michkov may be stuck in Russia for at least another year or 2, but could become the best player in Nashville history. Looking to build around those 2 starts a larger retool. Cup window starts in 2-3 years when Michkov, Askarov, Kemell, Matier and Svechkov all enter the equation on ELC's or bridge deals

to drop 10 places it's L'Heureux and a 3rd? No thanks

Barrie will not fetch a 2nd rounder. Maybe retained at the TDL. But look at the Gostisbehere trade, that's a fair comparable.

I think your comment makes it sound like you're undervaluing L'Heureux and what his game brings, it sounds pretty reasonable when you say its L'Heureux + Axel Sandin Pellika/Riley Heidt/Gabriel Perrault and a 3rd

As far as I'm aware, they're trying to aquire 1 elite piece, not 2 very good ones and a 3rd. Their prospect pool is one of the deepest in the league. Don't get me started on L'Heureux. That one incident with those fans gets at least 50% of NHL teams off of him, including Mtl, the team who asks the hardest questions to figure out morals in the league. Main reason they didn't draft Wright was attitude problems. He's good at hockey, that's a given, but it's not a Kent Hughes move.

No its not its terrible. He finished 88th in qmjhl scoring last year because of his blatant douchery. Even sorted by pts per game he didnt finish top 10. He isnt a blue chip prospect

Those are some great pieces going to MTL, but not for a potential franchise player. Habs pass.

VAN and NYI don't have the cap space for those moves.

I'm not sure I like the Saros trade for either team.

We're talking about the same team that drafted Logan Mailloux?

That's an interesting take considering the Habs drafted Logan Mailloux......

This isn't that team if you forgot. Mailloux was a Bergevin Timmins draftee. Hughes and Gorton have flipped that narrative, and probably have worked harder to help Mailloux's chances better than the Bergevin group would've. ITS A DIFFERENT MANAGEMENT, WHERE PROSPECTS FROM LAST YEAR ALL SAID MTL WAS THE HARDEST INTERVIEWS

I’m not going to argue there are some attitude issues that need to be fixed with him, but I think his decline in points was more due to missing 22 games at the beginning of the year because of an injury. If he reaches his ceiling and can control his emotions, he is going to be a problem for other teams to play against.

He got suspended ten games for it. He missed 22 games to start the season. You pointed out that his point production fell due to discipline, when injuries was a bigger reason for the point decline. Again, there are some attitude issues that need to be figured out, but I think he could become a very important piece in Nashville if he figures it out.

I was skeptical, BUT WHEN YOU STARTED YELLING IN CAPS I REALIZED I COULDN"T ARGUE AGAINST SUCH AN IRONCLAD DEFENSE.

Just look at the Mooseheads playoff run. L’Heureux kept himself composed, and he just dominated the competition. He was all up in other teams and players’ heads. It was special to watch. He is absolutely a good prospect, and seems to be getting it together

What a trash comment. Zach has been suspended NINE times for spitting, intentionally slashing a player in the face and assaulting fans

Bar is pretty low when its "oh he went more than a few weeks without spitting on someone or intentionally trying to injure someone not in the game" is an accomplishment.

I won’t speak on that, but saying that L’Heureux isn’t a good prospect is pretty crazy. He has an ability to almost dominate games/playoff series. It’s incredible to watch. When he plays by the rules, but still retains the d-ckhead part of his gam, he’s on another level. Teams just don’t know what to do then. I’m very curious to see how it translates to the AHL

I don’t think I need to repeat myself but I will. He has some attitude issues that need to be figured out in order for him to become a good player in the nhl. The original comment was directed at one saying that his point production was down this year due to his discipline, but I felt like it was necessary to also mention he missed more games due to injury than he did to suspension. I am not saying that he is a great person by any means; I don’t know the guy. All I can say is he has some attitude issues he needs to work on, and I think everybody knows that. I’m just shocked at the amount of MTL fans who are coming at him like that after Montreal drafted one of the most controversial prospects in hockey.
