They see Tippett as one of the definite core guys for the rebuild going forward. No one gets him out of Philly without a package that at least contains a first in either this or next year. And even then … maybe they at least consider it

We are extremely high on Tippett, expecting another leap this year into the 35-40 goal range. he had 10 goals in the last 21 games and we're looking for more. He's a player that we're counting on to be apart of the future and the quantity here just doesn't fit the value of Tippett. It would have to be an overwhelming offer.

Yeah this is definitely a quantity over quality kind of package. You need to give to get and they would just be giving up a bunch of spare parts in hopes we bite on the mystery bag presented.

Flames should make that move. They'll just have to make another move to clear the cap space.

They would probably need to make quite a few moves/let ufas walk to make this work next season.
Which is fine but it would be ALOT of changes.

Would probably mean no re-signing of backlund, toffoli, zadorov and tanev.

You might even have to move a forward under control like dube, mang, coleman or kadri.

If the Flames keep Lindholm and Hanifin, it will likely end with a similar result. I think extending Nylander would mainly be at the cost of re-signing UFAs, which will be tough to do anyways. Toffoli will likely want more, Backlund and Tanev might want a better opportunity, and Zadorov might be a casualty if Porier keeps progressing at the current rate.

I agree on everything except Porier, he's still 1/2 years away defensively. I though he was behind DeSimone, Gilbert, and Meloche in defending this season.

I'd trade Zadorov simply because that's too much to be paying your 5th D, when you don't have the cap space. I think he'll look much worse without Sutter.
