Boqvist does not need a change of scenery he needs to stay healthy. That's also an abysmal return. Add the Islanders 1st then maybe.

Columbus doesn't need more middle-6 wingers, so Zadina's not a good fit. They need centers and/or goalie prospects. You wanna move Cossa, Soderblom, or Kasper, we're all ears (heck, I think Buium might even move the needle a little). But Zadina is not in line with what Jarmo is seeking.

Not sure adding Swayman makes sense. He’s great but that pushes Cossa out of the way, no?

Not sure on the Hawk deal. I know Chiarot is not necessarily a dump in a completely useless player kind of dump way, but he is 32 and almost 5 per for 3 more years for a rebuilding team and the incentive of a 2 spot upgrade in the draft, a mid 2nd and a LHD prospect where the Hawks are bursting at the gills with (better) LHD prospects just seems like a why and ultimately no thanks. I think you would either need to replace the #19 with #35 or replace the 2nd/prospect with a good B+/A- prsopect like Mazar.

Not sure this concept makes sense for either team as they are in a similar spot with Detroit maybe a step or 2 further into the process but still rebuilding. Detroit don't need/can afford the cap space and shouldn't be giving up assets to dump cap and the Hawks should want more to take that contract which serves no purpose at rock bottom of a rebuild.

Colton won't sign that offer sheet, and if he did, Tampa Bay instantly matches and sends Yzerman a years supply of stone crabs to say thanks!

Hawks might consider taking Chariot, but they'd have zero interest in Viro. Replace him w/ a '25 2nd or a better quality F prospect.

I'm not taking a Chiarot dump for 2 spots in the draft. Viro is worthless. The 2024 2nd is a nice touch, but I don't think it makes up for the dump. I'm sure CHI and DET could figure something out if Yzerman really wants to move that contract, though.

I take this. We clear a lot of cap space doing that, Berggren is going to be a good Top-9 player and we find a stop gap to replace DeBrincat (take an overpaid player with not too much term left?

Plus, two 2nds in this draft where we have nothing before the 4th round

You don't need to replace DeBrincat. We never needed him

All we needed to do was to extend Nick Paul (then make Connor Brown happy and extend him reasonably), keep Gustavsson and find another good 2-way forward to replace Formenton (trade or UFA). Now it would be Greig *

    Tkachuk - Stutzle - Giroux
    Greig - Norris - Batherson
    Paul - Pinto - Brown
    Crookshank - Kastelic - Motte (?)

And you'd have Gustavsson + Forsberg in nets.

I'm just an amateur and I have been calling these before and at the beginning of the season. Been doing that for 3 years and every single time I was right. Pierre Dorion is just well over his head in this role.

    * Did you check the advanced stats I posted regarding Greig? He's going to be an excellent 2-way player
