  2. Mittelstadt, Casey
Additional Details:

2.
BUF
  1. Murray, Matt
  2. 2023 1st round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Buffalo pays to add another dart for the draft board. The first is late in the round and has the value of an early 2nd.

  1. Olofsson, Victor ($2,375,000 retained)
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
John Tavares could get a chair to score 20 goals, he will do significantly more for Victor Olofsson.
Olofsson could never replace Nylander, but he could replace his goal production. Toronto could trade Nylander to fill other holes in the line up.
The third is nearly a second.
3.
BUF
Buffalo can use its draft capital to move up in the draft.
    For example:
13th plus 34th could get the 7th or
13th plus 39th could get the 8th or
    13th plus 45th could get the 9th

28th plus 34th could get the 16th or
28th plus 39th could get the 17th or
28th plus 45th could get the 19th or

Finally, bundle together the three second round picks may move them up to the 15th OA giving Buffalo three first round picks, 13th, 15th and 28th.

Probably no trades and Buffalo would have the 13th, 39th and 45th.

Savoie isn’t going to play for the Sabres this season. Kulich is a maybe it depends on what they do on July 1st. Mittelstadt is getting an extension this summer. And they don’t want another bad goalie in Murray they already have 2 signed for this year.

Buffalo passes on Murray. Murray is not the same goaltender he was six to seven years ago.

LOL, that was rather poorly phrased.
You are correct, the difference between the first and the third turns out to be about the 33rd OA.
Just making the point that It is a late first not a mid first.

Murray is not the prize the first round pick is the object of trade.
As you can see, if other GM's were willing Buffalo could end up with 3 first round picks after trading away Casey and taking Murray's cap hit.

    I get it.
Johnson and Peeke are huge upgrades over Bryson and Lyubushkin.
Casey is probably not going to be traded.

On the other hand, this post gives Buffalo a good RHD to pair with Power, moves Olofsson for a first (by taking on additional cap), takes Bryson off of the roster and as the title indicates makes room for the new crop of prospects.
Johnson is a bit older than Samuelsson when Mattias became a fixture in the line up while he will start out in Rochester he may be brought up mid season just as Samuelsson was.
Krebs deserves a chance to prove himself as well and Jost slides into the forth center spot.
You are most likely correct Kulich and Savoie (I moved him to Rochester) are too young to be brought into the NHL.
Of the two, Kulich could be ready right now, and Savoie may need to grow a bit.

I am not disagreeing with you only expanding on my POV.

Actually the only parts i disagree with are Peeke being "good" (cant believe people still think this) and mittelstadt getting traded for him. I have no issue with RJ or Kulich in the NHL. Or with Casey getting moved really. Just not for peeke.

    VERY FAIR.

I actually saw a Boston post the moved Mittelstadt for Carlo, now that would be a HUGE upgrade.

Clague, Mittelstadt, for Carlo, Duran, and 2025 3rd round pick (BOS)
I should have used that trade.
Maybe I can do another post with that one.
    EDIT:
I can take Olofsson out of the Leafs trade and find another landing spot for him.
Trading Casey is particullary hard for me as I have been tooting his horn for somr time.
But to get Carlo, he has to go.

I'd take that for CBJ, but there's probably not a ton of interest in Bryson on our end. Could we just do Mittelstadt for Peeke + the 2nd or 3rd?

Fair warning though: Peeke is very much NOT GOOD imo.

Murray is not the goaltender 31 NHL teams would want to have in 2023-2024.
