Yeah but it just goes to show that NHL front offices make bizarre decisions all the time. Many of which the fans don't understand at the time and oftentimes the fans are completely right that they are stupid decisions.

Cap space is GOLD. Not sure how many cant tell after this current offseason with a hard cap that hasnt budged. If they want to get younger, his spot is better served elsewhere and this is better than a buyout.

Tbh, I would’ve like it more if we’d just gotten FC. Galchenyuk could be viewed as a roster player, and I don’t want him taking a spot from a young guy
