Chicago, Montreal and Calgary get fleeced here IMO.
Granlund is hard to move. Why would Montreal literally throw away a 3rd line center (yes he's overpaid, but still not a throw away)
CGY would want your 2023 1st and a much better prospect than that-which I dont think Pittsburgh has..

Montreal really doesn't need any additional cap space, the only somewhat notable internal free agent we have left is Harvey-Pinard and we're unlikely to sign anyone from outside this summer. We can get a better return for DVO elsewhere.

I can see Detroit doing that. Older vet , cheap, with a pick, it's got yzerman written all over it.

Montreal indeed really need to clear cap space considering they only have, ***Checks notes***, 9 million dollars of it with 22 players signed.

Habs don’t really need cap space…we are fine. If we can clear cap, sure we will do it just like any team would but we are not pressured to do so

You should send Guentzel to MTL for a 7th in '26, PIT needs to clear some capspace.

Personally, I’d do 23 1st and POJ or Smith for Hanifin

So the Hawks are going to eat a $5m cap hit for the next two seasons AND give up the better draft pick. The Penguins are the ones with the cap crunch not the Hawks. The only way your proposal makes sense is if the two teams are also swapping picks #14 (to Chicago) and 19 (to Pittsburgh).
