Seems steep to me for a guy who's struggled at the nhl level and played majority in the ahl last year. Still young though so good to keep him in the org.

Ngl, kinda wanted him and Rathbone traded for either Minten, Liljegren or Fabbro. Just don’t think Vancouver is the place for him.

He has lots of potential, but his game was pretty one dimensional when he broke in. without showing some hustle and even average defense, he wont last long at the NHL level. How he works out under Tocchet is the big question. If Tocchet doesnt like his game, he will lose out to pluggers like Diguiseppe and Joshua (whose game improved under Tocchet).

during his career high 27 point season, he had a bigger role, working his way into the middle 6 alongside other budding prospects like Petterson and Hughes so he got sort of left to the wayside as they prospered. with his dip in production the last 2 years, i expected this to be about an $850,000 contract but am happy to see Vancouver was willing to keep him in the organization. i don't assume he will even finish this contract in VAN but, i do think he's stil developing and will be a solid and consistent middle 6 player in the NHL.

It is 100% buriable... but I doubt he survives waivers. I 100% believe this is his last chance with the Canucks, but he does have the skills to stick around in the NHL, even if it is just at the 4th line level.

I wouldn't want the Leafs to trade Liljegren for him.

You think Minten's going to be an NHL player soon?

I'm not too familiar with his progress.

I fear that's true. Hopefully he can play in the NHL, show off his skills, and the Canucks can trade him somewhere where he will have better shot at more ice time.

Watching him all season in Abby I can say that he stood out in the AHL. Played with a chip on his shoulder.

I'm hoping that chip translates into a strong enough work ethic to stick around the NHL this year.

He could score 40 points this season and has been amazing defensively. This is one of the best contracts on the team right now and we get him for another year and he's still an RFA after that.
