That’s an easy decline from the caps.

Ostapchuk is the best piece in that Sens trade, no way they’re adding a 3rd on top of that.

Ottawa is not trading Ostapchuk just to dump cap.

Try again.

Easy decline from Toronto if we do trade him which I don’t think we will it’ll cost way less than that (we took him for a 3rd and 7th and he proved a lot of people wrong it gonna cost less to dump him now) but we will most likely buy him out or put on LTIR

Well I haven't gotten a no from everyone yet....maybe good timing on a Fri afternoon and all the Wild fans took off early to get to the lake? Thing is, Hawks are pretty set with their roster and not really looking to do much....probably would take one more dump at this point if it were the right price, otherwise just go to training camp and keep an eye on the waiver wire to add a D at some point.

To the Toronto replies, I get why you would not give up a 1st, but the alternative is a buyout with a carry over of 2 million next Summer. Hawks are not taking on a 6 million dollar salary (net of 5 if they were to take Murray and buy out Mrazek) for a goalie they don't need/want for a 3rd & 7th or something that is not at the very least a little distasteful. The time for a dump trade was at the draft when Murray could still be bought out.

For the Caps contingent, if you pull Johnson retained and the 3rd and the 2nd or Chesley and get it down to Mantha with a 2nd OR Chesley for a rando minimal salary forward, does that get closer to a maybe? I know some love Mantha (and maybe in a contract year he can stay healthy and put up some numbers) and don't view his as a dump, but for those that look at a guy averaging 29 points and 60 games played the last few years and view him as a negative value dump does the scaled back version create any interest?

Fine. Feels like the Wild are giving up the best prospect and the best pick, and whatever difference in value there may be between Foligno and Raddysh, it isn't worth it. We're giving up Bankier and a 2nd for maybe a slight upgrade on Foligno.

And if we really want to get into it, one could easily make the case that Raddysh's numbers are inflated given he played on a terrible team where SOMEONE had to get top six ice time. He's not a top six player, he's definitely not going to get 16.5 minutes of TOI (3 minutes PP) per game in the top six here.

So if you're one of those people that would make that case, you're giving up the best prospect, the best NHL player, and the best pick, for what? A little bit of cap savings for one year? No thanks.

I'll give them credit for at least making the trade work for the Wild's cap situation though. That's gotta be worth something! lol
