With the 3m cap difference in the two upcoming UFA.....that might be enough for the cap strapped Leafs to make the trade strap up.....Toffoli for Nylander. Holtz and the 1st seem like excessive premium.

There’s like 6 years age difference. Toronto isn’t doing that straight up not even close

Six years age difference meaningless. Both are upcoming UFAs. Leafs might prefer the 73 point Toffoli and 3m in cap rather than 85 point Nylander. That 3m difference maybe they get to keep Brodie.

Okay, but you just had the Devils trade for him....when they need to pay for Mercer. This doesn't work for NJD long term. They have the core they need.

its 4 but regardless nylander is sizably better but with no contracts in place or anything NJ isn't playing that premium for what is a rental swap
