Description
I would imagine they are, but is Buffalo even interested in Carlo? Does the 3rd rounder maybe need to be upgraded to a 2nd (or more)?

Every team in the league is interested in Carlo. He's "the most boring defenseman in the league" to quote an article from a few years ago. He's on the ice for the fewest goals scored by both teams which, on a team with another competent offensive defenseman, is very welcome. Plus he's entering his prime as a defender on an amazing contract. Guys like him don't get crazy returns because of the lack of offensive upside, but that package doesn't get him. Mittelstadt or Krebs, an A- prospect like Ostlund or Rosen , and a 2nd. A 1st if the prospect is lesser.

Jokiharju, Rosen, conditional 1st makes a lot of sense to me from how the Sabres want to form their team. Mittelstadt is far from untouchable but they need Savoie, Benson and Kulich to mature before trading him without an offensive return.

To make sense for Buffalo, Jokiharju needs to go the other way. Krebs is not ideal but could probably be included, but you wouldn't get a a good pick or prospect in return like a 1st or Rosen. Think the prospect would be along the lines of a Neuchev, Lindgren or Kisakov.

Yes, it makes sense for buffalo. I wouldn't ask for the pick, mittelstadt plus a slightly retained jokiharju for Carlo would be a huge win for buffalo, and potentially a win for Boston as well.

Makes no sense for Boston. Carlo with 4.1m X 4 year is one of the best team friendly contracts in the league, especially for 26 year old in his prime years.

Carlo would be an ideal partner for Power. However since signing Clifton and EJ it doesnt make sense to acquire another RHD. If you guys want Joki he's all yours for a 2nd or 3rd. Mitts we definitely keep for this season. If there was a trade to be had it'd be Mitts for Swayman at the end of this coming season, depending on how the two perform

Carlo is greatly under-rated and earlier this year, nearly every Sabre ACGM wanted to send Casey to the moon.
Jokiharju is still underappreciated in Buffalo but Granato plays him 21 minutes so he out ranks ALL Buffalo ACGM's.
The trade above is still tilted a bit Boston, but it is really close.
Boston gets a center to play between Marchand and Pasternak and 24 yo RHD who has 5 years of NHL experience while playing over 21 minutes per night the last two seasons.
With the retention Boston fills out the 23 player roster and still is $500,000 under the cap.
Buffalo gets a solid NHL defender who along with Clifton plus Dahlin and Power maturing would be a huge upgrade over last year.
Sweeney probably does not want to move Carlo at this point as he is priced right, RHD and the Bruins #1 PK D-man.
Buffalo probably does not want to move Casey as he gives Buffalo great depth at center.
Remember he stepped up to the top line and over the last 11 games registered 17 pts.
Imagine what he could do with Marchand and Pasternak.

Krebs, Rosen, and a 2nd for Carlo would be a dream for Buffalo IMO, as Buffalo keeps Casey and Henri.
I doubt Sweeney would accept that deal.
