Hawks are not really looking for a goalie much less giving up a 2nd for DeSmith.

Nobody is giving the Habs a 2nd for either of those guys. Hawks definitely decline.

There have been far more accomplished goalies like Hellebuyck and Gibson on the market all summer that haven’t got a sniff, the goalie market is flush, there is no way a career backup commands a 2nd round pick.

The only possible way the Habs get a 2nd for Petry is if they eat 50% of his remaining deal.

NSH doesn't have room to add another defenseman, and a 2nd is too much for Petry.

Not necessarily the right teams but:

1. Petry @ 2.34M could most likely fetch a 2nd+4th/5th (w/o retention 4th/5th) at the moment due to his poor play from last year.
2. Desmith's value is lower than that... my guess would be anywhere from 4th-7th rounder.
