I’d put Hughes up to 7, and move everyone from Thompson-Hischier above Kopitar and Malkin

Might be biased but look at the last 5 seasons between Draisaitl, Matthews and MacKinnon. One of them is just consistently better than the other two.

Just think: which one of those players are you going to put money on to have a 50 goal 100point campaign this next season.

This list is just bad. How about we pump the brakes on Hughes. One good season and we just have him in top 10? Nico too low. Timmy TOO high

Matthews, great to have this conversation... Best goal scorer in the league

Seriously, Matthews has a .622 goals per game over his career... Higher than the other 2 and guys like Ovi and Gretzky (not saying I'd take Matthews over either but it's more of a: This is how good Matthews is type of thing)

Stutzle should be exactly there but probably over Malkin and Kopitar. He’s a 12-15 range

Meh honestly Hughes might be too low on my list, Nico maybe over an aging Kopitar/Malkin but I wouldn’t put him above the others. Stutzle had 90 pts last year in his 20 YO season, he’s probably right around where he should be, him, Hughes and Thompson will probably keep climbing

Absolutely Matthews is the more talented goal scorer. But again, let’s compare actual goals and actual points over the last 5 years: Draisaitl—46.2G 107.4P, Matthews—45G 82P (per season averages over the last 5 years). Not only does Draisaitl have more goals (just because he’s in the lineup more often), Draisaitl has 25.4 more points per season than Matthews. No amount of intangibles can close that gap— especially when considering how much of a beast Draisaitl is in the playoffs.
