Strikes me as a bad idea for Columbus. Selling low on Sillinger to get a 0.5 PPG center with a hefty post-championship contract?

For that offer I’m guessing there’s a bunch of teams in play for team control and cost certainty dman and a gamble on a 20 year old Center, jets better beat your offer or I’m going ufa lol

I was waiting for this comment. I wish it wasn't you, because I like you, but my intended reply was, yes, my source is your mom.

What would that WPG offer look like? One year of Scheifele doesn't beat 8 of Cirelli.

Cirelli is a Selke quality defender, and 6.25 isn't really that hefty for what he brings, especially in a few years when the cap jumps up. That will be the going rate for average middle-6 centers, and I would say he is quite a bit above average.

I didn't realize Cirelli had such great defensive impacts, but I would still hesitate to sell low on Sillinger

As a Tampa fan, i dont hate the value, but the only piece that really interests me is Sillinger. Maybe if someone like Bemstrom and a prospect Dman were added instead, i could see Tampa being curious but likely not making a move. Cirelli was our best forward in the playoffs other than Killorn and will likely have a much better year and be in the Selke conversation.

Tampa Bay declines. Those 3 players don't bolster Tampa's lineup enough to move Cirelli. Definitely weakens the top 6 forward group

I don't think there is a trade in the NHL where you are going to send out 6.25x8 without taking something back money-wise. Peeke and Bean are a pretty good compromise. You still save money, and Bean is an RFA so no commitment there if you don't want, but he's also a guy that could really pop off in Tampa with that offense.

I get it, but it strengthens the defense and Stamkos could go back to center.

Does it really strengthen the D? Whoever takes Cirelli's spot in the lineup (probably Sillinger if he's the centerpiece of this trade) is a downgrade defensively to the forward group at 5 v 5 and on the PK. I'm not sure Bean is any better than DeHaan defensively. He might provide more offense than DeHaan, but that's not really an issue for Tampa. Peeke is probably an upgrade on 3rd pair RD to Raddysh, but Raddysh played well down the stretch and in the series vs Toronto. So Bolts trade a guy they love at 2C to upgrade their 3rd defensive pair? Sorry, just don't see it.

If Tampa could immediately flip both of them then its a different story. But we dont need anymore NHL dmen. if this was during the draft, then i could see them looking at 1 or maybe both, but right now there isnt a need for anything other than a middle 6 forward or 2

Could upgrade Elvis and or double rental with scheifele with a pick or prospect adventure, could be a creative blockbuster
