Can’t see why the Hawks would do this. Bedard is their money maker for the next 7 years until he gets UFA status and comes home

Hawks should be in their prime window of contention by the 30/31 season. If they are a perennial cup contender, doubt he walks away from that. And after a 3+8, he's still just 29 y.o.
