You okay?

You can’t seriously think you can get Gaucher for your bundle of crap

Avs need some depth, but recent returns on Evans aren't great. We'll do that for a 7th, or if you want to do it for a 5th you'll need to retain 700K.

Evans is definitely a better option than Meyers at 4C; this is a "maybe" for me because the Avs can still probably find an Evans-like UFA for cheaper.

Throw that 700K retention in there and I'd strongly consider it.

They only have one retention spot left and I doubt they use it for two years on Evans but it's worth asking

I always forget about the retention spots.......yeah the 1.7 is just too steep in my mind. Heinen is still the better option here I think.

Heinen would be okay but he doesn't play C which makes him a little less desirable to me but, the Avs still need cheap roster players up front so they might as well.

I don't agree with us putting all our eggs in the Meyers/Pavel basket, but I think that's where the eggs are going. At this point I'm hopeful for a cheap option to get some time at 3RW so O'Connor doesn't have to play up there.

Agree on LOC - he is a 4th liner, period. Pavel probably won't get any time unless there are tons of injuries but he's probably more suited to that role than JLF. I think the Avs could get Heinen for 3RW and someone like Motte, ZAR or Kiviranta for the 4th line with what space they have left and that would help a lot in terms of depth and experience.

MTL wouldn’t consider trading Evans if a 2nd isn’t coming back. The points weren’t there last year but he was playing with AHLers, and he was the only good player on that 4th line (Ylonen good as well, but he played higher in the lineup)

Anaheim has little interest in any of those three players. All are depth pieces, and Gaucher is projected to be top-6 material. And, Monahan and Allen are short-termers. If we needed/wanted them, we'd give you a third for Harris, a fourth for Allen and a fifth for Monahan.

Oh in that case my goodness no. Totally understand the value of having a reliable bottom 6 guy (I'd feel the same way about trading LOC). That trade just isn't in the cards for us.

Pmorin21 just do bad trades all the time, they don’t make sense and value-wise it’s always bad

Canucks easily decline. Absolutely no interest in Anderson and Gallagher’s albatross contracts when we’re already dealing with cap problems. We already have too many wingers as is, Anderson and Gallagher would most likely be expensive 4th liners in Vancouver.

I’d like to echo this sentiment, but I’ll be the good cop instead. Anaheim rejects your offer, but thank you for thinking of us

Only thing of value their is Ylonen, but I wouldn't trade Hart for him. DeSmith and Savard are both pointless for a rebuilding team and just take up space younger guys could be playing.
