Yes he should. He will get a longterm deal in January once they can negotiate

When you start to keep a list of Hawks fans against acquiring Joseph for less than a 1st round pick or two 2nd picks be sure to add me.

The offer proposed above makes no sense for the Hawks.

He has no reason to refuse because he would cash in as soon as next season. If not, he would get around 1.75 AAV on a 2 years deal… let’s say he gets what Colin White got back then, he would make 3.0 more already next season

If he goes along with this, Pinto should be entitled to 5 million per year starting next year.

On my team, loyalty is a two way street.

No need to, the fact that Sens fans have been throwing this proposal out for two months now and it hasn’t happened seems to indicate that the real decision makers agree with me.

Or they are trying to figure out a way to sign Pinto and keep Joseph/Kubalik. Because subtracting depth is never ideal.

Trades sometimes take over a year to transpire, which is what happened with Chychrun.

And if the "real decision makers" agree with you, you might get a job with them.

Instead of spending your days trashing popular ideas on the internet.

I'm sorry not everybody in the world agrees with you.

It must be heartbreaking.

Depends on how catastrophic the injury is.

If LaBanc took that "risk", Pinto can as well.

with that train of though, it could also means the sens are not offering and the hawks would accept it...

LOL, as both Snowhawk and I stated when we first started having this debate.... There are only two votes that matter: Dorian and Davidson.

I remember Oiler fans so vociferously arguing a couple/three months ago that Yamamoto had "value;" i.e., that he was NOT a cap dump. It ultimately turned out that BOTH Holland and Yzerman gave him away - for NOTHING.

ACGM is for fun; not a place where actual teams are built. It seems that either Dorian and/or Davidson disagree with you, or this trade would have already happened. THEIR votes are the only ones that matter. So far, it seems that either or both may have better ideas. How about we let things unfold and see if this trade actually happens?

Cheers

Easy for you to say; every case is different. Strong argument for Pinto to sign one year deal and then go back to trough year after when cap constraints (team and league) are much looser. But if he blows out a knee or shoulder & misses big section of season, you think the SENs will still be offering $5M per? Doubtful - it’s a cut throat business & I’d be surprised if Pinto & his agent did that

You missed the point, Sens fanes keep proposing Joseph to the Hawks which will not happen unless they are prepared to offer significant draft capital in order for Chicago to take his $3m cap hit for the next three seasons.

Ya, I’m absolutely crushed you don’t agree with me 😂

It’s not me keeping the list of who likes my proposal. It’s not me that proposes the same deal daily, hoping I can find one more person to add to my “list”.

Possible but the Sens are caught between a rock and a hard place and Chicago is one of the few options that can help them out, you can bet discussions on some level have been had, especially considering the two GMs have developed a relationship.

I would probably say no as a Hawks fan. Three years is a bit much term to swallow, at least in my opinion. And the Hawks are pretty well stocked on 2nds in the upcoming few drafts.

I think they would try to hold out for a 1st, but honestly this isn’t far off! Wouldn’t be surprised to see this (or something close to it) happen.

Not really, unless Joseph gets traded to Chicago for less than a 1st or two 2nds seems to me we are right regardless of what your list says.

I agree, I am merely saying the offers we have seen put forth by Sens fans and this one in particular are no where close enough to being acceptable for the Hawks.

Could be. If the Sens somehow also offered Thomson in the deal, it'd change the dynamics, as well. For example, Joseph, Thomson, a '25 (or even '27) 2nd, in exchange for Katchouk and a '25 (or '27) 4th? I'd think hard about that one...

I'm not saying that's a fair deal, or even one I'd accept, but merely suggesting that there are lots of different ways to approach a deal. A decent RD prospect could help the Hawks and change the dynamics of this trade (rather than simply discussing draft picks).

We'll see! Cheers
