Agree that Joseph half retained would be a good add for Tampa. But that offer isn't covering 3 years of retention. And if Ottawa was willing to retain half, Joseph would have been dealt already.

We have a few guys on PTO. Not that a 7th is consequential, but the Pens have possibilities without giving up assets.

It'd be pretty stupid for Ottawa to pay $1,415,000 on Joseph's contract for him to play elsewhere

They can easily afford him starting next season

They have to trade Kubalik instead, it makes much more sense for many reasons

A player like Joseph good defensively and who excels on the PK is more needed

Pens don't need Bogo and probably wouldn't given the age of their team, and that offer isn't enough to get Ottawa to retain that much or at all on Joseph.

Also we don't need to sign Cory Schnieder when we have Tomkins, Hugo. Priority should be replacing Johansson and NHL backup.
