What is heinola worth

Created by: Howie
Team: 2023-24 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 14, 2023
Published: Sep. 14, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With the signing of chisholm the jets need to move a dman and trust me I would prefer to move a Dillon, schmidt or stanley but the value there may not be there or be in a selling position. So before he's subject to more useless ahl minutes what is he worth or part of a package for a more impact players?

mid to late second maybe? Don't really see him being a player of mass interest on the market

Nhl ready dman that plays both sides and has had the highest ahl score in terms of impact I think he's worth more than that still really young

We're done with you, Winnipeg. We've moved on.

I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock, I should have made you leave your key
If I'd known for just one second you'd be back to bother me

I won't call myself a Heinola expert, but imo a fit and a team that would be willing to pay more would be Zona. They need probably a last long-term LD, and he could be a decent option for them. I'd say you could return maybe 2 2nds, or a 2nd and a 3rd. The thing is you like at Durzi, he is a bit older, but as of now much better, and only returned a 2nd

Jets have 2 dman that aren't supposed to be in the ahl anymore. He's definitely worth a late first similar to nil lundqvist maybe jets add a pick as well as heinola is worse and doesn't have the overseas success

Honestly maybe. The big difference is that Lundkvist seemed to have a higher demand, but my jaw wouldn't drop if Heinola can get a late 1st

Heinola and a 3rd for the condition 1st seems fair

There is no urgency to move Heinola.

If he's ahl next year yes there is he will be 23 with limited nhl minutes definitely hurts the value that he could get right now lol

Honestly, I don't see him worth a 1st anymore, would you pay a 1st for Harris? Harris has more NHL experience and his development seems to be ahead of Heinola's and could actually become available if Barron or Reinbacher push him out of the Habs lineup. I think right now, Harris might have slightly more value due to NHL experience, so I will leave it to you like this, what would you pay for Harris? That would be about the same price point right now for Heinola IMO.

I think either late 2nd on the high end if you're lucky and a another team realllly likes him or a 3rd on the low end. WPG best bet is to move him for a similar prospect at a position of need if they want to move him. 1v1 swap type deal.

If he was worth a 1st right now, he'd be on the team full time playing already and you wouldn't be looking to move him at all.

Im sorry I dont agree with your logic. He has 5 years of team control. Why even consider trading him? Not a chance someone gives the Jets a 1st rd pick or a 2nd even for him this season so the team is better holding onto the asset and hopefully he makes it. There will inevitably be an injury at some point or an opportunity for him this season and he needs to take advantage of it. Its him that hasn't seized the roster spot, he has had chances. People want to blame the team but ... those same people were handing Sami Niku the Norris trophy a few years ago. How'd that turn out? Many NHL defensemen don't get consistent playing time until they are 23-24+ years old. Dylan Samberg as an example.

Can't move schmidts contract, so better off trading Dillon for a bottom 6 forward and to clear a spot for Heniola. Team has plenty young D and Dillion is not part of the future. Jets draft well but damn do they ever screw it up (ex. Rosolovic, Laine, Stanley, Vesy,Trouba & now Heniola)
