Colorado declines. That's not enough for Girard. Hawks decline the Edmonton trade. McLeod doesnt come close to covering the tab to dump Campbell. He takes multiple 1st's to dump.

And I gotta think Anaheim matches that offer sheet.

COL declines, but also CHI isn't interested. I honestly don't want anything to do with Zegras, at least not at this point in CHI's rebuild, and definitely not at that AAV and offer sheet compensation. Maybe down the road if he has matured and taken more steps and CHI is looking to add that kind of player to the roster. The EDM one is a no go too. Not enough to take the Campbell contract. I do like Mcleod, but not that much, and we have no reason to treat Dickinson and Mrazek like cap dumps.

I’m sorry but it does not take multiple firsts to dump campbell no way u truly believe that it costed EDM 2nd and a 3rd to dump kassian (3.1M) also the oilers aren’t gonna downgrade the goalie depth and C depth when they are contending

Instructional class on how to remove Chicago's cap space before signing Reichel, Bedard, etc to new deals.

BIG difference between dumping Kassian and Campbell. Campbell has 4 more years at a $5m cap hit. So, yes, it is going to cost a lot to move him if EDM wants to do it.

Kassian had 2 years left at a $3m cap hit. A 2nd and a 3rd seems about right. 4 years at a $5m cap hit for a guy with ONE SOLID SEASON as a starter? So in two seasons as a starting G - one good season and one bad season. Who know what he is going forward. Yep. Takes two 1st's or the equivalent to move that contract. If that's too steep, then the Oilers can keep him as you seem to want or find another team to pawn him off on.

Kassian had 2x$3.2M left and had a contract that was very easy to buyout at the end (no signing bonuses, with dead cap hits of $1.67M this year and $767K next year). That, as you said, cost a 2nd & a 3rd.

Campbell has 4x$5M left on his deal. So he gets paid almost 50% more than Kassian and has double the term. If they wanted to dump his contract straight up, I do think it would cost *at least* a 1st and another high value asset.

I'm not saying the Oilers should do this; I'm saying that the Hawks fans pushing back are valuing it correctly. He's at least two seasons away from being a palatable buyout, and everyone in the league knows that.

Wouldn’t cost multiple 1st round picks like people are saying that’s just an overpay Campbell has had one bad season lol

Not really though Kassian wasnt even good enough to he in the NHL atleast campbell would be the starter on a team that is rebuilding right now

CHI is not looking for goaltending in the least bit. In fact, they are trying to do the opposite and give their goalie prospects ample opportunity to play, specifically Soderblom. Not giving discounts on cap dumps while putting up a roadblock that is owed $18.5M in total salary.
