With Bystedt and Smith likely in next year I can see Grier moving Bordeleau for a needed RHD. Barron is basically ready now. Emberson Rutta are simply just stopgaps.

I'd do that, maybe add like a low pick, but I think its an interesting deal

Yea I agree. Habs have like 7 fwds in the AHL who could become NHLers. Adding an 8th prospect at that level adds no value.
I would ask for a high 2d rounder. NJ's would be too low, SJs would probably be too high.
SO maybe SJ 2d (34th overall +/) for Mtls 3rd rounder (70th overall +/)

There's like a 2% chance Bystedt is making the team next year. He's having a bad start to the SHL season and will still need time to adapt to North American ice. Smith isn't guaranteed to make the team either.

I'd like to see how this season pans out for both Bords and Barron before doing something like this.

Ya i wouldnt do that either. Unless someone is offering a 1st or a higher end good sized centre or higher end goalie prospect you dont trade barron

dude come on...his Preseason wasn't great. He's lucky not to be in Laval. Youre not getting a 1st for an unproven NHLer.

Deciding Bystedt’s future after 9 SHL games is pretty ridiculous. He had a monster D+1 year. He has 2 goals in 9 games and is -1 only on a very bad Linkoping team.

I think it would take more like Musty for Hughes to pull the trigger even if he had to add a 3rd ish for it to make sense

I know, that's kind of where the Habs are at with Barron as well. If we move him then our RD is comprised of Lindstrom, Savard, Kovacevic and either Xehkaj or Harris. We need Barron until one or both of Reinbacher and Mailloux are ready for the NHL.

Barron isn't fetching a 1st. He's barely an NHL caliber dman right now

Thats why its a fair deal on paper anyway. They’re both on the fringe of NHL ready.

Nate Bastian for Cole Caufield?

Bastian hits. Caufield is 5’2” and smiles too big.
