Far less teams have cap space now then when Bjorkstrand was traded.

That may be. But the Hawks really don't need Garland and don't have a spot in their lineup for him once Kurashev comes off IR. Give the Hawks a call in June if Garland is still a Canuck. Vancouver might get a Taylor Hall like return then.

Doesn’t change the fact that if you want to move Garland there are very few teams that can afford to take him.

Yeah Raty has not been trending in the right direction in NA, doesn't mean he won't become good but I'd rather listen to other offers
