Hawks decline. Top pair RD costs more than that. This deal doesn't even match what the hawks gave up for Jones and that was for 1 year of Jones, not 7.

Hawks should take that and run. Jones is already the worst contract in the NHL and he still has 7 years left.

The Vancouver '24 1st isn't enough. Beau and Myers have no value to the Hawks. Can't see them trading Jones for a single first rounder, even if it is a likely top 20 pick.

Hawks have no reason to trade Jones at a loss. They have 20 mil in cap space and 1 capable RD other than Jones. Why would they trade Jones cheap

Well this is just stupid. 2 trades that are terrible for the other team(Chicago and Ottawa) and then lastly a terrible trade for Vancouver with the Gudbranson trade

That 1st barely pays for dumping Beauvillier and Myers. Add Willander and Brzustewicz, and you have a conversation starter.

Why? Because JFresh says so? CHI does not feel like Jones is the "worst contract in the NHL" and they have no plans of "dumping" him.

This was my thought too. Could CHI trade Jones sure but it will be for a haul that makes sense not for that package. And I’m not a Jones fan.

Can we not make an OEL 2.0 trade please. Just wait for Myers contract to expire and get a dman in the offseason that doesn't have a horrible contract.

I don't believe that Van could afford Jones in a couple of years when OELs buy out cranks up over 4mil...

Chi would not do this deal either way without much much more added.
