Leafs likely accept but we’d rather add more and get the retention on Murphy honestly

NYR fans love Goodrow. I don't see it due to the size of the contract, but they love him so the $3.6M doesn't look like $3.6M to them.

I would HATE that Leafs trade. Woah. Why are you trading away Murph so cheap?

We're not bringing Mrazek back no matter how good he's playing.

Can't see the Rangers giving up Kakko to move Goodrow. And Hawks don't make that Toronto deal. That late Toronto 1st isn't worth Murphy + a 2nd + taking on Klingberg. Pretty awful for the Hawks.

If Rangers are gonna trade Kakko there's gonna have to be a better player than Johnson coming back.

Goodrow is a cap dump, this gives the NYR flexibility against their cap. 2nd plus Johnson (they need a RW or C) plus eating Goodrow's cap, gets a failing KK. Maybe we can hope he becomes a Saad for Bedard.

Murphy is worth a 2nd rounder at this point. I agree the 2nd doesn't need to go back to the Leafs, but look at these leaf fans still saying no laugh

Cap dump, cap flexibility, a 2nd rounder coming back, a much needed C or RW, all allows the rangers to make additional moves for a failing KK.

It's not as much about that as the Rangers clearing a lot of cap space, adding a good playoff player in Johnson, and getting a 2nd so they can make additive moves.

No use for a 2nd round pick and they can buy-out goodrow in the off-season (not even sure if goodrow waives for CHI)

Agree on the Leafs trade and yet you still have Leafs fans saying "no" which is crazy

Honestly Kakko is starting to become a huge question mark, year five and he starts off 14-1-1-2… looking like he might be just a guy. If you want the Hawks to eat 3 1/2years of Goodrow and retain on TJ, just a guy isn’t really an inducement AND sending a 2nd round pick to the Rangers is an overpayment for Chicago in my opinion. You could argue the 2nd should be going the other way.

The Leaf proposal, again I wonder why the Hawks are adding a 2nd round pick, they are taking the Leafs under performing mistakes off their hands and retaining on Mrazek all for a swap of 1st and 2nd round picks? No thanks.

Rangers have the chance to go all in...they look really good but Goodrow and KK are both weak spots obviously and getting a better player in Johnson for the playoffs. Removing both players, getting the cap flexibility, and using the 2nd round pick to make an additional TDL move, all makes a lot of sense for the rangers to go all in; and they should go all in.

Agree with what you are saying on KK, however, I think this is a high risk high reward move. I don't think KK ever lives up to his draft position, but I do believe with patience and with other youngsters around him he can become a Saad type of player, which would be perfect to play with Bedard.

Agree on the Leafs trade. I threw the 2nd going back to watch what Leafs fans would do even when a trade heavily favors them, and of course at least one of them didn't disappoint! laugh

Make that 2 now! LMAO

I believe what Murphy provides to the Hawks (and potentially only the Hawks) is worth more than another 2nd round pick. I'm not saying he needs to stay for the entire duration of his contract....although I wouldn't be mad at that. I'm saying KK still needs at least 1 full season next to a veteran. Next year this time we can revisit.

I know you like Murphy a lot, I like him too but more as a locker-room guy and a #4 on D than anything else. I don't think his market value is better than a 2nd or maybe 2nd and 4th. I would also like to see him go to the Leafs honestly and thrive in a role as their shut down physical guy...I think he deserves a chance after playing for 2 crap teams.

That's just a dumb POV, and good GM's don't let pride and principle get in the way of winning. If this net play continues from Sammy and Mrazek, you better believe the Leafs would welcome him back.

Or they trade for Johnson without moving goodrow or Kakko lol. The same people who say Kakko doesn’t look good are the same ones who said Laffy didn’t look good last year…look how Laffy is playing now

With Kakko's upside for his cap hit, I don't see how it's worth it. Sure clearing Goodrow's cap is nice but I don't see the Rangers cap situation as so desperate that they should trade their former 2OA pick to dump him, especially when he has a good buyout. I feel like you're under a misconception that this is the Rangers' only option to clear cap space, which is just not true especially with the cap going up adding flexibility. Drury knows if he keeps Kakko he can resign him for another value contract next season, sure his production leaves a lot to be desired but he's far from a useless player, he's still a valuable asset for the Rangers.

No interest from NYR. They’ll use picks to move on from Goodrow and Kakko would only be dealt to make a move for a 1RW.

I do like him, but I like KK and his development to me is the most important thing. Murph helps in that department and so for KK's development...that's why I wouldn't be trading away Murphy yet. Besides, I'm pretty sure Murph spends his offseason in CHI. I don't think he's looking to get traded.
