The thing that will hurt the Oilers so badly in this is McDavid's NMC. He will dictate where he goes and that is going to lessen the return by a big amount. It will be a bad return in relation to how good he is. Draisaitl will likely get a more fair return than McDavid, but only because he's not half as good as McDavid. No one is. But if he says I will only go to (insert 3 or less places), those teams will be contenders and they won't likely be able to give half as many assets as you will want.

If the time comes that McDavid is traded it will gut you all. I don't want to see it happen, despite some fans on here who are aggravating, McDavid leaving Edmonton will break that city and they don't deserve that.

Leafs definitely accept the McDavid deal. Probably decline the Draisaitl deal but not by much IMO.

A lot to unpack here but only the Buff McD trade seems somewhat close. The others are pretty skewed one way or the other. Even then, if Quinn is the best player coming back, Edmonton wouldn't do it. Swap Quinn for Cozens.

Canes trade isn't bad but I'd replace Orlov with another prospect, he's lined up to be Skjei's replacement next year. Would also prefer not to take Campbell's contract but the buyout isn't horrible so its not a dealbreaker.

Yeah, you aren't getting all that from Buffalo especially if Campbell is included. Plus McDavid will basically pick where he wants to go so if he does choose Buffalo it's gonna hurt the ask.

Buffalo has more centers than they know what to do with. Neither trade makes sense, especially with their cap hits

Mcdavid will be 6 mill more than tavares at UFA prices, so there's 13 mill in pay increase in your core 4 from what you have now. in 3 years the cap goes up, 10 mill? So your situation now but with even less available cap space to pay depth that costs more due to overall cap increases. Wouldn't say that's ideal
