Created by: Kyle_Okposo_Lover
Team: 2024-25 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 18, 2023
Published: Nov. 21, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Direction: Youth influx. Play the youth and give them some veteran presence to help them like SJS has with Foligno and Perry. Keep Celebrini in NCAA imo, playing on a dominant BU team with Eiserman. Gonna help him way more than NHL imo.

Sadly, Petry's NMC will block that trade.

I'd be all for CBJ going after Hertl if he was actually willing to waive his NMC to come here. Thats a pretty big obstacle, but if it's cleared, I'd want to hang on to Ceulemans and Texier, and could bump the pick up to a protected 1st and 3rd.

Good teams have defensive shutdown forwards and useless picks doesn’t help the rangers

They can keep developing him and hope he becomes a Mark Stone lite

having high hopes is always good but I mean Mark Stone actually produced at a young age. Stone has put up less than 60 point pace once since losing rookie status, Kakko hasnt touched .5ppg pace once in his career.

Stones first few seasons are also better than Kakko's defensively, and he has signifigantly improved since. Idk where the Kakko is great defensively narrative started but there isnt much to back it up. He is above average and pretty solid, but nothing more than a 3rd line checking forward at this point. Holding onto him with hopes of him becoming what he can isnt a terrible idea but if it means he will fetch that 4 or so mil contract, id use the money elsewhere

Calling him an elite shutdown forward is quite funny!

Chytil? Go through my page ive never once said NYR should even consider moving Chytil

I was super high on Kakko heading into this season but he has regressed quite a bit, and when Laf continues this production ill believe it.

Never said they shold be moved for mid picks, and last i checked A top 35 pick and top 70 pick arent "mid" picks lol. 35OVR gets the 1st round talent that drops a bit too much. If you htink Kakko's value is more than this then idk what to tell you.

SCHNEIDER TOO? LMAOOO WHAT. Stop strawmanning bro yall aint victims out here

Above average defensively is better than half the league when you’re 22 . Any line that he’s been put on has good defensive analytics. He’s ranked 11th among all forwards in shots against/60 and 15th in expected goals against/60 for 175+ minutes

Not every 1st round pick is going to come into the league and turn into Mcdavid, Mathews, Hughes, etc. People need to start realizing that. If he’s gonna cost too much on the next contract, then yea you move him

Not to mention, this team is great right now with everyone playing as a team. So there’s no reason to change anything if they can keep it the same

this is summer 2024 in my simulation where NYR lose conference finals. Prices go up after longer runs and I predict he will ask for 4-5 on. a 4-5 year deal, outpacing chytil's deal. If he wants a 4x4.85 for example, I cant see that making much sense for NYR, its a big gamble. I think that money is better used elsewhere like a Tarasenko or Sprong then pairing it with another depth forward or center to deplace Goodrow depending on what prospects NYR keep as a result of the 2024 TDL.

The Avs aren't paying to move RyJo at this point. He's been fine and there are teams that would still likely pay for him at 4 mil per.

Yea if he’s asking for more than he’s worth sure, they move on from him. I’d rather them get a play driver/defensive forward with the extra cap

But they can easily afford him, Lindgren and Schneider if Kakko even asks for like $4.5m

Slow down trigger finger. Like I said, you sound like a broken record, meaning all outsider stat watchers lol. Til Lafs latest heater, Kakko has been the far better player and both have good futures with way more promise. So no we are not trading him for pick 33 & 90 in 25.

Eller has been one of Pittsburgh's better depth pieces since Harkins was no longer on his wing. He's not a cap dump and he's not being bought out.
