I don't mind him... except on pp1.

Right now Ylonen is definitely playing better and deserving of more ice than Anderson and Armia. Beyond this I'm fine with him on the team.

Hes literally one of the worst players in the league. All hes done this year is draw penalties but he also takes them so its barely a positive

He is playing pretty good in the last few games and he has decent advanced stats. He should get off pp1 but that’s it

Apart from being incredibly snake-bitten he hasn't played much better or worst than in any previous season. He's gotten more breakaways than any other player on the team and probably more scoring chances than all but 3 or 4 players on the team. In any other season he'd already be on 6 or 7 goals with the way he's played.

His advanced stats are pretty horrific. Curious to know which ones you're talking about that say he's been decent?

You're not wrong but this is a guy who historically has finished those chances, and lets be honest anybody but an equally snake-bitten Lehkonen would have finished at least a couple of those. I'll be more concerned about the player when he stops getting those chances.

He is fifth for expected goals per 60 on the team. He has the second best xGoals at 5v5. Acceptable Fenwick and Corsi. Pretty much all stats are acceptable

his xGoals share 5v5 is pretty horrific at 35%. He has a lot of xGoals personally yes, but he simply does not drive play in the SLIGHTEST for any of his teammates because he's an awful passer. His defensive metrics are pretty bad accross the board.

His even strength corsi and fenwick are both sub 40% as well

I actually like his play. Yeah the present bashing purely based on stats does fell like Lehky back when....

Usually snipers on a cold streak are invisible. Josh is physical, attacks the slot and get good looks. It shows great mental strength and reassures me he will get out of this slump sooner than later.

It is the fact he does get all those chances and post hits that makes it so frustrating ... and quite frankly just laughable at this point.

As for trading him, don't panic and sell low. Just go on with the season, it's not like if playoffs were the objective anyway. A Tom Wilson light at half the salary will be in demand eventually.

Hes the 30th ranked goalie this year. Thats a starter. And whos that legit starter? Saros, hes been ****. Gibson, too much term. Theres no one else

Allen is ABSOLUTELY NOT a “starting caliber” goalie

His Goal saved above expected is 30th in the league. that makes him the 30th best goalie in the league. look further than GAA and Wins to evaluate goalies

Going by one particular metric of your choosing doesn’t tell the story either

Habs fans have been trying to trade him to us since early in the summer, but it’s just not gonna happen
