I see what you're trying to do in reuniting the 3 US\BC bros

I don't hate either trade but I don't love them either. They can happen but, I don't see Wash or NYR being super thrilled and I don't know exactly how I would change it.

So congratulations because you have really stumped me lol

Not a chance with those offers. If you want to reunite that line its going to take some serious offers.

More like

Washington Trade:
Leonard for Ekland, Bystedt and a pick

Rangers Trade:
Perrault for Musty, Haulttunen and a pick

They might seem overpriced but those are prospects neither team is interested in trading

Out of Smith, Leonard, and Perreault?? Are you saying that because you just checked their points?

I've watched like 70% of BCs games, Perrault is not a play driver. Smith and Leonard are far better

It’s no coincidence that Perreault is at the top in points no matter what team he is on

I guess we’ll see who’s the best of the 3 when they’re all in the NHL

Don’t get me wrong, I know this is a bit of a reach. But…

NYR gets forward depth for this season and a playoff push, while also getting out of the Goodrow contract in exchange for solid 4C depth with Sturm for the next two years.

WSH gets cap space plus a bonafide center who can play with Ovi as he chases Gretzky’s record now that Backstrom is done.

Sure, both teams sacrifice the future with these trades — but if the Rangers get a cup and Ovi gets the record, won’t they both be worth it? They’re both at least three years out from having to tear it down.

Again, watch the games. That conference is on ESPN so you can watch BC, BU, Northeastern, etc. games if you have ESPN+.
You'll see that Leonard is a far better player than Perrault even if the point totals don't say so

Washington doesn't need cap space. They have like 7 million open because of Backstrom's LTIR right now

Washington just got cap space with Backstrom on IR. So that's not an issue. Hertl's contract doesn't end until kids born in 2012 graduate high school, so that's a hard pass. Leonard is the best prospect we've had since Filip Forsberg, so there's no shot the Caps are gonna make that mistake again lol, he's untouchable. And Mantha is FINALLY looking good and playing really well with McMichael, so there is no point in trading him now.

So all in all, it's a pretty easy no from Washington.

No I get it, Washington replaces 2 depreciating assets (Kuznetsov and Mantha) for Hertl and get him long term and they get about an extra 5mil to play with (like someone said they already have a lot of cap space because Backstrom is on LTIR) but, losing Leonard is massive. Again not impossible but, I don't love it. Helping Ovi would be great but he's been ice cold when it comes to goals for his standards, I don't think he'll get the record unfortunately.

NYR could really use the cap space and the added top 6 winger and replacement depth center are good but, I don't think they'll move Perreault to do it. They might believe the team is Duclair away from a cup but, it would be a very tough internal decision to make

Certainly one of the Armchair GMs of all time lol. I see the vision with the BU connection but those trades are pretty wack.
