Description
Dvorak, Allen and Savard are the next to be dealt. More likely Dvorak than Savard or Allen unless minutes need to be cleared for Mailloux or Reinbacher. But if aren't ready and deserve NHL minutes then Savard stays and splits time with Harris.

Kovacevic will also garner some TDL attention given little cap impact next season.

No free agent splashes. Sort out Ghule and others. Better to utilize that for a cap dump (Schmidt?)

That is bad value for unretained Matheson and you want us to retain 7,5m on top of that?

Next season. Not sure how much more he would honestly get.

More than that. At least a mid first and a B+ prospect unretained

The Jets have no need to pay to move Schmidt. He's good defensive depth for this year and his cap hit doesn't hinder the Jets at all.

The Jets most likely just ride out Schmidt's contract, or buy him out if need be in the summer.

Ya, I just imagine the buyers would be contenders and therefore a late first. So, I could see another prospect added.

No he is not, Monahan is worth a 1st and 3rd, you seriously think Necas gets 2 1sts (one in the top 10) and a 3rd?! Dach didn't even get that much and he is better

Necas is a young near ppg winger. Dach is much worse. He is totally worth 2 first

Dach had like a 20 point career high when traded. Even last year he only had 18 5v5 points in his “breakout” (the same amount as Matt Martin did).

Necas>>>>Monahan (who’s at a pathetic 42.8% xgoal rate)

So the value this year. And then the RFA control on Necas

Now we all know you view everything through heavily red tinted glasses, but this is one of your better ones. It should definitely be on your "greatest hot takes" list.

Well the delusion is strong here as well. Maybe remove your rose colored glasses every once in a while.

I’ll just say this now, whether other fan bases think Matheson is a top pairing Dman or not he is one here in Montreal. Would you trade a top pairing dman half retained for a late 1st and a 3 rd in 3 years? Yeah I didn’t think so.

I have to disagree.

Yes he is good depth, however, the Jets will need that cap space to make a trade at the TDL to boost the forward core and they still have Heinola, Chisholm, and Stanley (sadly) that can fill in with samberg on that bottom pair and iff they need to get a bottom pair RHD then Sean Walker is avalible in philly.

If a team offers this to WPG, they have to take it immediately. IMO this is too little to dump Schmidt. I fully believe it will cost near a first round pick in value to dump schmidt.
