I guess Brady could try goalie. Might not be his forte though wink

I can't see Jersey giving up three regulars, and two top picks for one Brady.

No chance Kovacevic costs anything close to that.

Wouldn't move all that for Tkachuk either.

There's 6 firsts of value there
Mercer: 2 1sts
Mcleod: 1st
Marino: 2 1sts
1st
2nd

why does everybody suddenly think that Brady is available, and why would he be available for a package without anything of major substance

4 years of a quality top 4 RD at 4.4 million
A potential 2C 21 year old with 4 years of RFA control+ELC
the best 4C in hockey with RFA control
1st
2nd

If we extended to match term
Mcleod 2.75x4
Mercer: 4x4
Marino: 6.5x1

In total over the 5 years that will be about 53 million total for Marino,Mercer,Mcleod
Or 41 mllion for Tkachuk

Personally I'd rather have Marino Mercer and Mcleod than Tkachuk and some scrubs, let alone giving up picks

Sens aren’t moving Tkachuk, but the package is probably about what it would take to get him if they were.

Your evaluation of players values is quite hysterical

I get the big ticket on Brady. But what is this Kovacevic trade? Whoa.

John Marino is a quality top 4 RIGHT dman with 4 years of term at 4.4 million. Chychrun comp.
Mercer is a quality NHL roster player at 22 years old with 4 years of RFA control. Comps: Newhook, Dach++
Mcleod is the best 4C in the NHL right now with RFA control. And if you want to call him a 2nd, the other 2nd balances it out.

I think he's been doing well in Montreal.

Nearly 80% of his zone starts are in the defensive end and performing well. He's also playing great on PK. Good pair for Hughes to do what he does. He's so cheap that I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a good return in the future.

Why wouldn’t we just keep Miller?

I think Dougie is out for rest of regular season, so may not be a need there.

So our right side for the rest of the year would be Kovacevic Nemec and Brendan Smith?

a mid-late 1st rounder, a 2nd round pick, a 2nd pairing defenceman, a solid middle 6 centre, and a bottom 6 centre?

not like it's crap by any means, but you don't get proper top quality without giving up proper top quality

You paid a 1st a 2nd and a 2nd for a 2nd pair dman in chychrun.
Mercer is a 22 year old ELC. He returns multiple firsts.
1st, 2nd.
Mcleod is the best 4C in hockey

Chychrun is far better than Marino. Marino’s was acquired for a 2nd and a B defence prospect, don’t try to just make up a different value based on a different player lol. Mercer is good but considering the Sens have Pinto and Greig right there anyways, really not a position of need. again, it’s plenty of “oh yeah that’s pretty good” pieces, but that doesn’t get Brady. if you’re not going to properly value him then why even want him
