Would be an absolute no from this Jets fan.

So Winnipeg gives up 3 of their top 6 prospects and a 1st round draft pick for a guy on an expiring contract and a player who wouldn’t supplant anybody on their back end… right. Guentzel at best gets a 1st, decent prospect and maybe a roster player.

Easy no for Winnipeg. The Jets have no use for bottom pairing defenseman, so Joseph adds no value.

Guentzel doesn't waive for Winnipeg and isn't pulling down anywhere close to that as a rental.

Pens pass pretty easily . Jake is a top 10 left wing in the NHL. Could get much better offers from most playoff teams
Also seems like the Jets would have no need for any wingers. LW is probably one of their biggest strengths

This is probably the last place Jake would resign so it doesn’t make sense for them.

Maybe as a sign and trade, and even then the extension would have to be VERY favorable. Don't get me wrong, Guentzel is a great player, but he is almost 30 years old and a pending UFA. No team is trading half their future for a guy who's next contract has a high chance of not aging well. For most teams, the best you will get is a rental price, like a late 1st plus a 2nd or something equivalent. And even at that price a lot of teams will just wait until summer and approach him in free agency.
