Regardless of the value on each side, why would Columbus have any interest in adding 2 very large 30+ year old contracts that are both being underperformed?

Laine's deal isn't pretty at all, but Huberdeau's is clearly worse. Market romance has 1 year less than Elvis I guess, but Elvis at least looks mid now and is slightly cheaper so call that a wash. The only positive here is that they get out of paying a 7D level player 2.7 for the next couple years.

COL couldn’t do that trade even if they wanted to because of you know the salary cap.

The prices may be off but the teams definitely are wrong.

I don’t mind the first trade, but yikes I wouldn’t touch Campbell or Laines contracts with an infinitely long pole.

Also no reason for the Bread trade, and CBJ doesn’t touch Huberdeau’s contract ever, it’s arguably the worst contract in the league other than the Campbell contract.

Laine doesn’t net Olofsson and a First plus back from Buffalo either.
